I think I've watched too much hockey for today. I watched a pair of games from last night, as well the Caps and Rangers today...I've got the DVR in the other room recording Leafs and Bruins, but might not watch it till tomorrow.

Yikes. Out with a friend for his birthday. He's a doctor and one of his patients didn't make it. Really hard on him. Hard to relate. My job isn't all that important.

found out a favorite bartender has terminal cancer. less than a year left. nothing they can do. went to the doctor for stomach pains he thought was just a really bad ulcer, got test results yesterday.

and i was whining to my wife about having a cold and getting up early to take the kid to swimming lessons.

So that was a lot of drinking.

Did a Pedal Pub around a bunch of dive bars around NE. Ended up at Gasthof's where we drank even more and ate pounds of meat. Then we packed up TONS of leftovers (think a couple pieces of sausage, pork loin, pork chops, dumplings, etc that filled up an entire box). And then left them at the restaurant. Because we ALWAYS do that.

On the plus side, she not only didn't projectile vomit everywhere, but drove us home. Where I proceeded to sleep for 12 hours.

And now my wonderful girlfriend is getting McDonald's breakfast.

So I don't know much about HD televisions, blu-ray players and the like, and I'm trying to figure out what I need to make this work...

I have an HD television with the sound system hooked up directly to the comcast box for cable television, how can I get the sound system to work with the blu-ray player/xbox 360 without having to switch cords around

Gotta give a big presentation tomorrow. Really nervous about it. Speeches/presentations are the one thing that really gets to me when it comes to classes/school in general.

I have a Blu-ray/surround sound system that I got on black friday a few years ago.

I have an HDMI cord running from my cable box to my TV, and my xbox hooked up to my TV. Having a second HDMI connecting my TV and Blu-Ray. To get sound rolling, I have a red/white cord going from my TV to my Blu-Ray. It's plugged in on my TV into slots labelled as "Audio", while my blu-ray player receives them in a slot "Audio In".

Look for something like that?

See if the TV has audio OUT connections that you can hook up to your sound system. That way regardless of what device you are using, if its sending audio to the TV, the TV is sending audio to the sound system.

Or if it doesnt, you may need to get a switcher box. They're cheap and simple.

The sound system seems to be a little older, it only has the red/white audio connection.

There is however an optical audio out in the TV, and an optical audio thing in the comcast box, I wonder if that would make it work.

Look for similar red/white connectors on the TV labeled "audio out". They hide them sometimes.

There is a single green one, and then the optical one.
