lol @ people who still think Leafs need a goalie and try to discredit Reimer because of it.

...and it's the Canucks vs the Leafs!

Luongo sees this thread, and he's not impressed:

Thinks there is too much of these:

lou isnt going to play for another 10 years, contract or not. when he isnt a number one he will probably play one bad year and switch to gulf. isnt that what most multi millionaire nhl'rs do?

If he gets traded to Toronto, we can guarantee we won't hear his name past the end of the regular season

Agreed. Reimer's stats this year justify him as the Leafs starter by themselves I would say. No need to trash Luongo.

I could see Lu going to Washington. Holtby looked kinda shaky tonight and their team is more of a "win now" roster.

LOL, Vancouver is going to be stuck with him despite their fans attempts to tell everyone what a great value he is on internet messageboards.

Then lets talk about team support.

The Leafs are 4th in the league in Goals for per game with 3.11, The Canucks are 19th with 2.50.
And in total the Leafs have scored 24 more goals than the Canucks.

The Canucks have 12 1-goal game wins, the Leafs have 9, The Canucks have 0 2-goal game wins, the Leafs have 4. Then 3+ are tied at 7.

The Canucks PP is 30th in the league, the Leafs PP is 14th in the league.

The Leafs PK is 5th, the Canucks is 14th.

The Leafs also have a higher team faceoff percentage and more total team takeaways than the Canucks. Both by a fair margin.

I could look up more if you want. But what we have established is that the Canucks give Schneider less goal support and less defensive support. And Schneider is playing better than Riemer despite facing the tougher situation.

So now what do you have as proof that I am wrong?
Are you admitting that Toronto's better than Vancouver

Same can be said for any other season that Reimer has played however with the roles reverse. Toronto also has strong defensive play because Reimer has been incredibly reliable. Sure Schneider gets the slight edge, Rask as well, but each have separated themselves from the goalies of the same age group. IMHO you have Schneider, Rask, Reimer than the rest of the mid-20 goalies in the league. With that said, both being the same calibre, sharing similar Save% and GAA, does it make sense to park Reimer behind Luongo for the next 10 years?

How about Luongo's playoff performance last year?

Wins - Zero
Losses - Two
GAA - 3.59
SV% - 89.1

So we have to bank on him retiring? Regardless, if he plays to a capable level until hes 38 then Reimer is still sitting until hes 30!

No but to use a 15 game sample of Luongos as a judge of his ability is foolish.

Very likely...or Vancouver will cave and trade him for an offer most people will consider a "less than value" type of deal, yet still try to convince everyone it's a fantastic deal.

so you are going to compare playoff stats to who's? can't recall a leaf goalie in the last ummm lets be kind and say few years to compare any playoff goalie to. playoffs are no where near the same as the regular season of the president trophy winners would also have the cup each year. generally thats why all stats are broken up to regular season and playoffs.

You certainly know how to articulate your argument well and use basic math

Do you really need to?

So much speculation of Luongo the Leafs and I can't fathom why myself right now.

lol @ Leaf fans that perpetually post in Luongo threads when they apparently don't need a goaltender.

I don't think so. Many of us are sick of Gillis and will have no problem pointing out what an idiot he is when he screws up again.

Are there actually people proposing Luongo to Toronto?

I mean it seems like this thread is

- The Leafs don't want Luongo (despite the fact that no one has been saying the Leafs need him)
- Luongo is the worst goalie ever
