He's going deeper, you can't change who you are only learn to hide it better.

Yeah but true self always comes out eventually. He was a good and loyal husband until Lindsay Weir came along.

Hell, she didn't even know anything about him, really. More than seeing that he had a tough life, she is probably coming to realize that he is a person with an actual past. Sally has never met her grandparents on Don's side (except for Ida ) or anyone else and knows nothing about her father. Next season should be great.

Thought of something today, isn't it possible that the show might be on a trajectory that ultimately ends with Don Draper dying and Dick Whitman re-emerging from his ashes?

That's the thought I got when I reflected over what happened in the final episode, more and more of Dick Whitman started to reveal himself as the façade of Don Draper that he created to escape his past began to crack.

The only two people at the firm who knew anything about Don's life prior to joining Sterling Cooper before the Hershey meeting were Pete Campbell and Bert Cooper.

I feel the same. A few times in the show, he's told people how easy it is to run and start over. I have a feeling it will end in either his anonymity under a new identity, or complete reversal where he just becomes Whitman and casts aside his alter ego in Draper.
