Colorado. I remember when they were making fun of us. They are brutal.

Me. You're hurting me! I'm unwillingly caught up in this dead end journey along with everyone else and 'hoping for the best but expecting the worst' is killing me softly

Shaping up to be a baad night

Detroit and St. Louis both win and we'll be 3 back of the Blues, they have a game in hand. And 4 back of Detroit (although we have a game in hand).

God damn!

The numbers sure are not looking promising

Got to get another win streak ASAP.

54 points (7-3-1) might not be enough anymore.

St. Louis is on pace for 56
Detroit on pace for 54 if they win tonight, but they will likely have the tiebreaker so we would need 55 to get ahead o them.

Basically we need to go 7-2-2 or 8-3... That is going to be tough. Or we hope that one of the Blues/Wings tank it the rest of the way.

There isn't 1 team in the current top 8 that the Oilers are better than....not 1.

Too many holes. Too small, too soft and the defence is just not good enough and thats critical at this time of year.

Its next year territory for this team but that doesn't mean we cant enjoy these games because this is special after 6 years of serious suckage.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but at the moment the Oilers are 16th overall. If the top 16 in the league earned spots, they'd be in one right now. Too bad there wasn't a CFL crossover this season.

The good thing is there are still a bunch of games between teams involved in the logjam, so teams will be giving up points too. Here's the updated schedules with common games in bold. St. Louis has a huge four game road trip starting on Sunday. After tonight San Jose only plays teams in the race.

Edmonton and St. Louis have the most home games left.

Edit: updated to reflect tonight's finals.

This pretty much sums up my feelings as well. It is unreasonable to expect them to make the playoffs but I am happy watching games and having a reason to cheer again.

But something about this team nags at me that they could still surprise.

Honestly, I'd forget about St. Louis.

Detroit is the team that can be caught. They're frankly not very good.
But their schedule is pretty weak.

vs Blues
vs Sharks
at Hawks
at Preds
at Flames
at Canucks
vs Coyotes
vs Kings
vs Predators
at Stars

I agree with this. I think St. Louis is a much better team. Detroit is kinda weak. Reputation only gets you so far at this time of year.
