Pretty much. I'd be happy if they hang on in the play-off race until the end of the season--anything can happen. The priority in the off-season should be adding a real top 4 d-man and a gritty top 6 forward. I bet they re-sign Gagner and move Hemsky to fill one of those holes. I would not mind if they re-sign Whitney for 1 year on the cheap (2.5M).

They should not fire Tambellini until after the lottery.

Well, technically, all non playoff teams were in the lottery before as well. The only difference is that now you are not limited to only being able to move up 4 spots.

Pretty easy to tell what is going on there, they are going after their homeboy in the draft, but Cowgary is not going down without a fight lol....just glad to see we have finally passed the torch to Cowtown, hope the fans enjoy being the team that gets s*** on, on HF for the next few years.

Would be hilarious though if we did win the lotto again after they changed the rules.

I will guffaw like mad if the Oilers were to win the lottery and we just miss the playoffs.

Well, they laid an egg against Minnesota losing 3-0.

9th place ours to lose now... give the Wings a scare at this point is enough for me... if we make playoffs gravy if not we look to our first pick in the teens since 2004 and try to remake the bottom six in the off season...

The lost two. Time to win 4 out of 5 now.

Toews line scores two in under a minute. Hawks lead Preds 4-3 now with 8 min left.

I think the Preds are down and out. They are calling up young guys and giving them some time in the majors. That's not a definitive indicator, but I'm not sure a Trotz led team aiming for the playoffs would rely on youth.

I know, but they would have leap-frogged Edmonton with a win (with two extra games played). Kane with empty net goal and the game is over.

Flyers, Sabres, BJ's and Preds just need 1 win each and the Oilers are down to picking 6th overall.

A losing streak to wrap up the season is still very doable for this team. Jekyll and Hyde, you never know what you're going to get.

I'm actually starting to be at peace with whatever happens (I think so anyway)... I've had so many ups and downs recently with this on-again, off-again playoff chase that whether they make it or drop to bottom 5... whatever will be will be.

I'm sure my aorta will be happier if I mellow out and just chill with whatever happens. Too many highs and lows these last couple weeks.

I'm probably deluding myself... if they get close to making it again I'll probably have a coronary.

Where we are right now, we could pick up Lazar which would be great. I'd take Monahan over him but I think Monahan will be gone at around 5-8

Our faint glimmer of hope was blow out by a taco fart from some chump in the nosebleeds in Anaheim tonight who got free tickets for putting in more than ten bucks of gas at Exxon yesterday. Worst of all, it was a beer battered fish taco with chipotle/guacalome sauce. Churros after.

I assume this board will be full of positivity around 1AM this Sunday after we win vs Phx and the Cgy at home. It ain't over till the fat lady sings but scoring 3 goals and giving up 10 on their mini roadie wasn't exactly what a playoff team does when things are looking up initially.
