The Oilers playoffs started on Saturday, these next 2 games must be looked at the same way.

Basically a win and you're in attitude.

thats where we disagree. I'd prefer the oilers stay in the mix even if they fail. it will teach them more than if they collapse yet again, and are one of the worst teams in the league, yet again.
much rather fight for the playoffs and just miss.

what would it benefit the oilers (other than a higher pick) if for the 4th year in a row they are one of the worst teams in the league and historically pathetic?

Absolutely have to start the game tonight with the same hunger as against the Canucks on Saturday. If the Oilers can do that, I wouldn't be surprised to see 5 or 6 goals.

gotta love the hypocrites. I remember when many oiler fans were resigned to management tanking and they were pretty righteous in the fact they "would NEVER support a tank and cheer for their team to lose"

how times change.
Ha ha!

Currently writing an essay on the objectivity of Thomas Kuhn's "paradigm shifts". Coincidence? I think not.

4-2 Oil.

Last three games have reminded us about a certain universal force that should not be mentioned too soon. I have faith. 3-1 Oilers it is.

Oilers really need another good start. Hopefully Dubnyk is ready and doesn't let in those soft goals that deflate the team.

"You know what? I look forward to the Battle of Alberta for the next X number of years."

Couldn't have said it better myself Big Feast!

Bring on Kipper and the hapless munchkins.

5-2 Oilers, 3 point night for Eberle.

Hopefully the boys roll them tonight and Wednesday.

Reading CP was depressing. The hate they have for the Oilers is bordering on unhealthy. Even I don't hate the Flames as much as they hate the Oilers.

Oilers win tonight at home. Flames have a fire sale on Wednesday--in order to re-tool--and the Oilers spank them again in the Saddledome!

hope we take the flames seriously.

they will come out to play tonight. I'm not so sure we will. I hope we do, but we can't assume anything.

Hope Kipper doesn't start though. He has traditionally been an Oiler killer.

Also, just to add some perspective to the BOA, we have lost 17 of the last 20 I believe. Ground your expectations fans

No kidding. Even the few, sensible Flames fans get ripped on for not having goggles on.

Game day prediction: Kipprosoff and Glencross both are last minute healthy scratches due to trade interest, Oilers destroy Flames 6-1

Edit: and almost right on cue...

‏@aaronward_nhl 41s
Calgary Flames have granted Toronto Maple Leafs permission to talk to Kiprusoffs representatives

Expecting two big wins (tonight and Wednesday), but it's the Oilers so who knows if they'll show up. Strap your bags down everybody, let's go!!!

I'm expecting the Oilers to play well. I think that the Oilers have found their game at just the right time. Hard to say how the Flames come out tonight. I expect them to play physical and tough.

If they're going to trade him, right now would be an excellent time.

If Glencross is available, I would think that we are one of the few teams he would waive his no trade clause for (I believe that he wants to stay in Alberta). Make it so. We desperately need a guy like that.

I have a good feeling Kiprusoff will be sitting this one out for precautionary reasons. Perhaps Glencross too as another poster stated. If the Oilers play like the did against Vancouver it should be a blowout.
