If Regier pulls that deal off, he needs to stay. 18 months ago, Buffalo had Roy, Leino, Adam, and Gaustad at center (with Ennis on the team).

If that deal happens, they'd have Hodgson, Ennis, Couturier, Grigorenko, Girgensons.....

That would be quite a turnaround at center.

Imagine Hodgson-Ennis/Grigorenko-Couturier down the middle for the next decade... With the potential to draft a guy like Lindholm, Barkov or Monahan on top of that...

I'd move Ennis to wing where he belongs. I still feel like he would be so much better as a winger.

I like Lindholm's game. Big fan.

It's really not. There's a reason he's being dangled.

I agree. All past transgressions would be almost instantly forgiven.

If Couturier is available then Holmgren is an even bigger idiot than I already thought he was.

Couturier? He's not being dangled.

And if he was it has more to do with his GM being an idiot than his on-ice play. Like I said a week ago Holmgrem would trade a 22 year old 80pt player for a 21 year old 79pt player if he could. He trades just to trade.

yea, you move Ennis to wing... and you really Couturier is your #2 center... taking defensive zone draws, drawing the tough matchups, playing the big important minutes.

the other guys (grigs/ennis) get to clean up the scraps facing easy competition as the 3rd line

Girgensons-Couturier-XXXX is the bones of a potentially dominate shut down line

i really dont think a borderline playoff team like Philly is moving Coots for anything other than a legit, young D-man. 1 year of an arguably overpriced RW and some spare 2's for Coots? I dont see it.

Yes it was. You said he's Grigorenko lost.

Grigs looked lost while playing EXTREMELY sheltered minutes.

Couturier is struggling (mostly offensively) while playing TOUGH MINUTES.

I'd be quite interested in seeing Ennis on Couturier's wing to hopefully kickstart his offensive development. For all his flaws Ennis has 60 points in his last 82.

Two reasons:

1.) Holmgren is a moron. It's already been proven several times.

2.) Couturier is one of two pieces on that team that could net Philly a relatively massive return. Giroux isn't going anywhere.....so Couturier is being dangled.

If Pominville get's moved....you have to imagine we are keeping Stafford.

I don't buy into conspiracy theories (however entertaining they may be), but if you're in that camp you have to like Buffalo's chances of getting it rigged in their favor over Florida/Tampa/Colorado .

I think it'd depend on who we got back for Poms.

I could easily see them both dealt.....though realistically I think you're right.

Selling Stafford at minimum value just isn't Regier's style
