I dont think he plays like Max much at all. His D IQ is already off the charts and he plays larger than his frame (74 hits). Needs to improve at the dot and learn to get more active north/south offensively, still dangles and waits for space a bit too much, but he's just 21 with 182 NHL games under his belt. I'd love to get him on this club.

Don't see it at all to be honest. Burmistrov is already miles better than Max ever was defensively.

Exactly my thinking. Miller would be a Vezina winning goaltender again playing with us while you guys get better for the future as well.

Automatically sabres fans compare any skilled, flashy player to afinegenov

I don't see Philly moving Couts for a winger..... they need D.

Schwartz has much more value than Cole. Schwartz is already showing he will be replacing McDonald. That's just too much to give up seeing as how well of a season Rattie is having as well.

Exactly. People who have a chubb for Hanzel should be all over the idea of Burmi -- the kid has the tools to be a good offensive player but he is already a very good defensive player. Buffalo needs someone like him who can handle the third line role while Ennis and Hodgson still try to figure out defense. And if/when Grigorenko arrives, Ennis can be slotted back on the wing again if he's still here.

Burmistrov is far more likely to become a poor man's Datsyuk than a Afinogenov.

I've said this jokingly to a friend, but......

Swap Myers for Couts and then turn around and swap Pominville for Yandle, provided that PHX is OKed by Poms????

PHX is deep on D but thin up front. Monies are similar......

I'd have no issues with that. But I'd still want them to get a true Defensive stud somehow.

I think keeping Myers and moving Pominville + for Yandle + makes sense.....but if moving Myers gets us a blue chip forward, I'd be willing to do that. Are we really going to wait 3-5 more years for Myers to get to the level he's being paid for now?
