So when the roster is full its

Saad-Toews-Hossa
Sharp-Bolland-Kane
Bickell-Shaw-Stalberg
Frolik-Handzus-Kruger

Keith-Hjalmersson
Seabrook-Leddy
Oduya-Rosival

Crawford

4th rounder for Handzus...who incidentally played with Mayers (and Hecht another possible acqn candidate) for Q in Stl (the 2000 president's trophy winners)...

4th a bit higher than I thought, but I imagine the price tags are only going to go up from here the longer they wait...

I'm positive, after this move, that Bowman will make at least one more trade.. and I love that, once again, the move came completely out of left field. No one knows that they're talking about when it comes to the Chicago Blackhawks and "rumors".

Hard to be upset at acquiring anyone for a 4th round pick. No complaints here.

Great in the shootout. That's where I see him being very valuable to any team.
Don't think they have shootouts in the playoffs...which is what deadline deals (by contenders) are really all about....

Its his FOs & size & net presence perhaps on the pp that they got him for

Agreed. I'm sure he will help us with faceoffs on that 4th line. Kruger taking draws always makes me nervous.

It's hard to complain about this trade. Handzus isn't the answer by any stretch of the imagination, but he does help fill a gap in center depth and faceoffs.

Still waiting for that #2 center trade.

Good trade. We already have enough stars on this team, so we didn't need a big plash like Iginla.

Hossa has another Slovak to befriend.

Now, if only there was an olympic event, where the two played on the same line recently, that would get Q's mind a'goin and he'd put Handzus as the 2nd line centre.

Edit - Never mind...4th rounder sounds about right. If he only has 2 points on a slow Sharks team, I don't know how well he'll do with a much faster Hawks team.
He'll probably put up 20G/25A playing with Kane and Sharp

Exactly. If he wears the Indian Head on the ice for so much as a single minute, that'd be sixty seconds more than you could expect from an average 4th round pick.

I'm obviously referring to the remainder of the regular season if a shootout does occur.

Way to insult my intelligence, UWT.

The guy looks like he is done this year. I mean I know that' snot much but we have traded away our 2nd/3rd/4th rounders this year, correct?

I mean, honestly, why drop in a slow, ****** old player into a lineup full of young, hungry, fast players. I don't really see a reason to even play him over Shaw or Kruger at C.

This is the Brendan Morrison trade again.

I wanted them to get a 4th line center but I was hoping for one that could play a little bit more physically. I'm not sure how big of an upgrade this is over Mayers

Knowing Bowman, this is the #2C solution. A retread just like Morrison.

Hawks have a deep prospect pool, so giving up a 4th is a non-issue. Not like that's a tremendously valuable pick in and of itself anyway.
What I'm more concerned about is if this is the only thing Bowman plans to do. We'll see.

and if it is? so what?

even if this guy is the 5th C

I want him playing before mayers, so that all that matters to me

I think it probably is the only thing he does. I'm not sure what other move there is to make besides 2nd line center but then at that point why did you get Handzus?

For what they give up, it's a good deal.
