Bruce Garrioch ‏@SunGarrioch 15s
Michal Handzus had the choice four teams _ including the Winnipeg Jets when he made his decision to go to Chicago.

I'm OK with putting him on the 2nd unit PP.

Wins faceoff, goes to front of net, doesn't move.

I liked him a lot when he was good, but at this point, it makes me think this will be the only move because of roster space. So this is pretty much B-Mo for our deadline.

So the 2013 version of Handzus, as opposed to the 2006 version, is a combination of Andrew Brunette and Brendan Morrison.

If this is the B-Mo, than that means there's more to come. B-Mo wasn't the only move.

Except Bruno nor BMo were big, or good at faceoffs. Handzus is useful and not relied on for top 6 duty. Bowman acquires a need, and people still *****.

It's an ok move, but I'm not even sure we should start him against certain teams so why should there be a parade over it. The real hole is 2C and everyone knows it.

It is what it is. A decent 4C for a 4th round pick. Might be nice on the PP or PK if he isn't too slow.

4th line C = Improvement at dot + Can help PK

If this move is for him to slot into #2 or #3 C role then this is massive mistake

Think John Madden. 36 when he joined the Hawks, .510 career at the dot (Handzus .511), both play a lot on the PK

This must be some April's Fools joke by the Chicago Blackhawks organization. Did we get Adam Burish as a packaged deal?

Welcome to our slumber. While it is healthy to question things to an extent and always want to the team to improve, there's definitely a lot of negativity in this place. Just how it rolls, I guess.

Meh on this one. Guess some center depth doesn't hurt... but this sure better not be it.

I doubt this is what Bowman is planning on using as 2C. Pretty sure he knew going into it that he's just a 4th line C that can rotate with Mayers. Odds are that our 4th didn't amount to anything better than Handzus anyways, so I like the trade. Hopefully it's not the only one.

Pretty sure we're gonna see Handzus between Sharp and Kaner. Bollard back to 3C, Shaw replacing Bickell or Stalberg. At least for a game or 2. Bolland is useless as a 2C.

And at this stage Handzus is even worse...

The highest we'll see Handzus is on the third line, but I doubt that.

Not that I like that move long-term, but I don't mind Q trying it out for a game just to let Bolland know he's not going to be gifted the spot if Bowman doesn't go out and get a 2C. Obvious hope is that a 2C is acquired though.

1 game is too many

Handzus is not capable of playing top 9 role

I don't get all this "gifted" crap. Bolland's been the third line centre for years folks. YEARS. How is that not earning a look as the 2nd line centre?

People don't want to break up the third line, people don't want Kruger as the 2nd line centre, so what do you all expect? At the end of the day, Kane's producing which is all that matters.

Last we saw of Zues was him ripping it up at 8 points in 8 games with Havlat back in 06, then the wheels came off the season when he went down for the year with injuries and Havlat followed suit.
