Are these guys real players or are you just making up names? Bigger question, would Feaster know the difference?

I disagree. His point totals have dropped off considerably and all of the statistics that you could be use to judge defensive performance (hits, blocked shots, +-/60, GA/60, on ice save %, corsi) do not show him favourably. Stats aren't everything, but my qualitative judgement of his performance this year isn't very good either. At his salary I think he's actually an amnesty buyout candidate for the Leafs, I can't see any teams willing to trade for him unless there is an equally bad contract coming back the other way. Maybe some team out there is willing to place him into a #1 or #2 role (Phoenix?), but if I were them I wouldn't. Grabovski is a tunnel visioned shoot first player that hasn't been able to generate any chemistry with anyone this season and every player that has been moved off of his line has performed better. He's fast and can make some good plays, but he's overpaid by at least $2 million per year.

I'm hoping if we do acquire him its for no more than a 3rd, he will not be here to play goal, he will be here to mentor and help groom Reimer. Is he honestly worth anything more for that sole purpose?

Umm...yeah, no wonder he's been used rather extensively in that role. Don't get me wrong, Grabs is not a third liner. Jay McClement is a third liner and we need 3B/4A centre to replace Steckel.

My point is that Grabovski isn't being traded for nothing. Carlyle expects more from him, and that is keeping the puck into the offensive zone. Regardless, he's still primarily starts in the defensive zone and will be essential in a playoff run. It's just that he can do much better offensively and is having a bad season.

PS: I don't want Mike Cammalleri and doubt we'll acquire him. We don't want to have a soft top line. He's probably better off in Anaheim.

I'm not going to say thats a stretch if he does become a leaf because Reimer is slightly injury prone, however assuming that he can stay healthy a full season without any major setbacks, I can't see it. Again, this is going forward with the notion of a healthy Reimer, should an injury occur, I could see 10-20 games. The other option should we keep scrivens is to bring him up from the A, who will most likely outperform Kipper.

Kipper has looked terrible for the most part this year, however, he has had a couple of games where he was spectacular. The change of scenery to the Leafs might do him some good, however, as a Flames fan first and Leafs fan second, I don't see the point for Toronto. Reimer and Scrivens have been more-than adequate when called upon.

I'd rather keep MacWilliam in the organization than deal him for Kipper.

This is the last goalie that's left PHX for a different team. As you can tell by the illustration, he hasn't been the same since.

I think Kipper would rebound big time on the Leafs.

Leafs are playing pretty good defence. They have defencemen that will clear the crease. They have guys that will punch other guys in the face if they run Kipper, and so on.

I feel really sorry for Kipper this year. He has gotten run pretty hard a number of times without any response. Teams have no fear to enter the crease and give a few late pokes at the puck, or to just sit on him. So easy to crash the net, without a response. Not going to happen in TO.

Yes, he hasn't been great lately. He just seems a bit rattled. I think if he stays in Calgary, he will retire at the end of his contract (or at this rate, after this season!). Put him on another team, you will get another 3-4 good years out of him. He will be an elite goalie again, I have no doubt. What is that worth now, though? I have no idea...

Carter Ashton + 5th

Heard Feaster loves his longshot prospects and Pavelski was drafted in the 5th round or something so you guys are really getting a steal here.

To be honest, I dont think the Leafs should be paying the value that Kipper deserves and Calgary expects. The age just doesnt line up with this team.

The furthest Id go would be to offer Scrivens + mid round pick, or Scrivens + Blacker.

I wouldnt want to see our 1st or 2nd in any deal, i wouldnt want to see Percy, Biggs, Sparks, Leivo, Colborne, etc in any deal.

And you can turn around and say "well you cant get him then", to which I would say "sure". Because im perfectly fine with Reimer/Scrivens. Theyll at least be around when this team becomes more competitive (assuming they do).

so you are fine with 2 goalies with ZERO combined NHL playoff experience

So Kipper would be back up for Toronto? I think It could be decent deal. I don't think Flames would want too much. I don't know, I just have a feeling Kipper doesn't like too much spotlight, so Toronto isn't good destination.
