Teams with defenseman captain and alternates

Can anyone name teams in the past where at one time the captain and alternates were all defensemen? I can't think of any off the top of my head and haven't had a chance to dig around.

I too searched, drawing blanks. There must have been though. Several teams appearing to have rotated the 'C' & 'A's" over the season. Then there were also numerous Goalie Captains until the NHL instituted the "Durnan Rule" (he was slowing down the games by going out & arguing calls with the ref - Luongo's title strictly honorary, Alternates arguing calls etc as you know). Possible Goalie Captains with Defencemen Alternates & so on. Cant seem to find a single source so Id imagine you'd have your work cut out in trying to compile such...

The 2010-11 Toronto Maple Leafs started the season with the Dion Phaneuf with the 'C' and Tomas Kaberle and Francois Beauchemin as the two alternates (though Kaberle and Beauchemin both ended up being moved prior to the deadline).

Here's what I could find looking through the Elite Prospects archives:

10-11 St. Louis
C: Brewer, A: Jackman and Erik Johnson (although Backes and Steen were also A's)

10-11 Toronto
C: Phaneuf, A: Beauchemin, Kaberle, Komisarek, Schenn (Grabovski and Armstrong also had A)

09-10 Toronto
No captain. Kaberle, Komisarek, Beauchemin and Phaneuf wore A's

07-08 Philadelphia
C: Jason Smith, A: Hatcher and Timonen (Richards and Gagne also had A's

06-07 Los Angeles
C: Norstrom, A: Blake and Miller

02-03 Dallas
C: Hatcher, A: Matvichuk and Zubov (Modano also had an A)

01-02 Florida
C: Laus, A: Svehla and Ozolinsh

99-00 Boston
C: Bourque, A: McLaren and Sweeney (DiMaio also had an A)

Detroit had Lidstrom as captain with Zetterberg and Datsyuk (and sometimes Kronwall) as As.

That's certainly better a better group on defense than you'll get from a lot of defensemen...
