Calgary-Winnipeg

Calgary - Tanguay, Glencross, Bouwmeester

Winnipeg- 2013 wpg 1st rounder, 2013 chi 2nd rounder, 2013 chi 3rd rounder, Postma, Burmistrov

I know this a radical departure from the Chevy vision, but if you're gonna make a run...

Calgary starts the rebuild in earnest.

Can we just stop with the glencross proposals? He isn't getting traded. Period. Even if the flames wanted to, he would waive his nmc.

Not a chance the Jets even consider that. I would loveeeeeeee Bogo with Bouwmeester as a shutdown pair though.

Hell no from Calgary!

We can get WAY better returns for these players sold individually:

Jay Bow - 1st , Good prospect, Roster player

GlenX - 1st , Good prospect

Tangs - 1st.

What would be the price tag for Bouwmeester alone from Flames fans be?

Most of our good players are really young so I can't think of anyone who we would trade to make it worth it.

Edit: post above me lol

Winnipeg's probably close enough (location wise) for Glencross to waive his NMC.

Value's close. Maybe remove Tangs

Good prospect is a little vague I'm not sure what Winnipeg could offer up. Don't like the idea of trading a first with Bouw's salary much though...but someone still will.

We wont give up our first unless we are a playoff team forsure IMO, which we dont know right now. And the flames probably dont want a 16-30 1st round pick for all that anyway.

From what I can see...

Tanguay ~ Postma + 3rd
Glencross ~ Burmistrov
Bouwmeester ~ 1st + 2nd

But Winnipeg doesn't give up our first this year and doesn't want to take on all that salary. The Jets are buyers in the sense we want to add pieces to the club, but not necessarily short term solutions. Winnipeg won't be a cup contender this year so there is no need to add a guy like Bouwmeester even if the value is there.

Take out Bouwmeester + the 1st and 2nd and you might have a decent trade...

Tanguay + Glencross for Burmistrov + Postma + 3rd.
I still don't think I do that though as I said before in my earlier post, it's likely no deal for WPG.

Calgary should love this.

1.Frees up 14 MIL in cap room.
2.gets rid of 3 guys on the wrong side of 30.
3.obtains 2 players who start tomorrow with the Flames and they are on their first contracts.
4.3 more draft picks.

Flames fans argue at will.

Jets fans

Imagine pass-first Tanguay on a line with shoot-first Kane and Jokinen.
Imagine Bouwmeester on a shutdown pairing with Bogosian.
Imagine Glencross bringing grit and scoring to the bottom 6.

(salivating sounds)

1. We're not against the cap
2. Jay is 29 Tangs is 33 which side of 30 is the wrong one?
3. Great if they weren't the main pieces of the deal
4. At poor value to what we'd give up

Doubt Glencross waives

Just for the record as a Jets fan I'm having trouble saying no.. That's a lot of talent to add for what we are giving up.

Ladd-Little-Wheeler
Kane-Jokinen-Tanguay
Glencross-Antropov-Wellwood
Wright-Slater-Peluso
Scheifele comes in when he's ready

Enstrom-Buff
Bouwmeester-Bogosian
Clitsome-Kulda
Trouba comes in when he's ready

Still no #1 center though, would be tough to win any playoff series that way. Hmmm.

I apologize about Bouw. He looks 15, but judging by the amount of time he's been involved in rumours, you'd think he was 50...

...if you're Glencross the NMC probably doesn't have the cache it had when he signed.

If you're the Flames, which vet (30+) is going to be around for the next cup run?

If you're one of the vets on the Flames, why not take a stab with a team that is likely to finish 3rd and draw the Leafs or Sens in the first round?

Thing is the appeal of trading each of those players separately might garner a coveted 1st round pick in this year's supposedly deep draft. Maybe add in some prospects nobody's ever heard of on top of that.
