He's skating with Beck and Legwand, which I don't *think* is their top line... but probably the one with the most icetime so far. They're putting him through his paces, which is cool to see.

The kid has great hands and excellent vision. Screw his foot speed, he has 30 goals, 40 assists written all over him. Just wait until he knows his teammates. Again I don't care about his stats tonight, but watching his strengths against hungry NHL competition tells me a lot.

If we held onto Forsberg, did you want him in Hershey for a year? I seem to remember some suggested it as if they knew it was best for him.

I actually think Hershey is not always best for everyone young prospect and am glad for him that he is not stuck in the NHL. Did anyone suggest he would have been up in Washington this year? He was earmarked for Hershey. Wasting his talents perhaps, maybe its best we moved him. I used to think Osala was good.

We can't lose, really. If FF goes onto immediate greatness, it helps show George to the door.

He looked good in what little I saw. But a kids first game is often just that. He is expected to do well for years if not a decade. His first game is not the final judgement.

It is, check the injury list.

He looks pro-ready, and imo already looks better than Johansson. He just had a steal, and made a great pass. Also had a great scoring chance. Could have been a goal. He is easily first line material.

Forsberg with the turnover on a failed clear that led to a goal. He's terrible, McPhee wins!

Your hyperbole is unbearable.

MaJo has been a top 3-4 player on the Caps since he's been back. Trade hate aside, to say FF is better than MaJo is ridiculous.

Ok that's just wrong. He does look pretty good but nothing extraordinary. Everyone watching this game is most likely dissecting every play he makes and making every little thing he does seem great.

And there's no way he's better than Johansson yet. He's been a near PPG player since his return from injury, and is looking better each day.

Yes.

HF Caps Fans :: Filip Forsberg

As

Canadiens :: Sidney Crosby

Or

Maple Leafs Fans :: Jay McClement (you'll understand if you go on the main boards )

Don't be ridiculous, he's not better than MoJo.

I don't like the trade, but the more I look at it, the more I agree with those (BobRouse) talking about the team toughness. Caps are going back to the Patrick and need to stones to compete there.

Yeah. Has Forsberg even played in the Channel One Cup?

What does Erat have to do with making the team tougher?

How does Erat help with team toughness? Especially at the expense of a power forward prospect.

I'm much more concerned with why Kevin Klein allowed Zetterberg to sneak in back door without tying him up.

Because GMGM had built a team designed only to compete in the SE division, who cares about the Stanley Cup Playoffs?
