Not only are they going to produce much more than what we're currently carting out there, the wingers they play with are also going to benefit. 6 guys scoring more is going to make a big difference in your lineup. Should also help losen up the twins and the PP. That's a lot of goals.

That with the core and Kesler coming back could be a solid team.
dont expect us to get a puck movign D man, i think Edler is going to have to get his **** together for once and we have to rely on that happening

kesler was on our team before, in the playoffs and last year, offense still struggled. Roy isn't going to solve that. Kesler actually takes away from offense from his wingers IMO. the offense he gets, is just taking away from his wingers.

he'll help on the PP though

again, i dont think kesler coming back to rejoin his crap team and roy coming in saving our offense. still one more player away from actually being a contender

No doubt. I am glad GMMG isn't waiting until the deadline in hopes of lower prices. It is nice to see him being pro-active and using his time. There is still plenty of time to fill needs.

Robidas, Cammaleri, Clowe or Pominville? I suppose Goc-type third line center is out of the picture.

This opens up deals for Luongo that no longer involve a center. Excellent.

Both players are similar, shadow of their former selves and dealing with Injury.

Huge upside for both though if they can recover.

Might not be if the Canucks can move Luongo.

Kesler will make a massive difference on the PP.

Center depth was the most glaring issue and Gillis has improved that dramatically.

Unfortunately he screwed up with Luongo so getting anything else done is going to be difficult.

Honestly didn't see the need for the Canucks to make any deals. This isn't the year. That being said, at least it wasn't a bad trade. Sucks for a team with so few prospects to give up a 2nd round pick, but that + a prospect that didn't look to have any future with the team for Roy is pretty good value.

Ugh... ya Jagr went for a 2nd and a couple of 4th/5th round wingers... ugh... liked the idea of Jagr on the Nucks.

Say what you want about Kesler but there is no way wingers playing with Lapierre or Schroeder are more likely to score.

This team wasn't crap until we ran out of centre's.

when i think about it, i think i might actually like roy more than jagr on this team. our lower end forwards roy will be playing with, aren't nearly smart enough to work with jagr. lol roy can prob do much more with guys like raymond and hansen, etc

i can definitely say hansen and raymond are more likely to score with schroeder and im not even a fan of schroeder and i like kesler. kesler's game is very off these days, he is not using his linemates whatsoever. i just dont think they suit each other, i think kesler works better with booth/kassian than those speedy north south guys that roy could work with

I like defence. You need to play defence if you want to get the puck back. What I can't take is predictable, stale offense. Chip and chase is all very well because the Canucks are good at recovering and the D pinch down to take the ringaround away, but you have to vary the attack sometimes. The Canucks are being outcoached.

Jagr still has talent, but the Canucks had a glaring issue at center ice that needed attention.

Also Jagr is 171 years old.

They're more likely to get a nice pass but much less likely to have the puck or be in the other teams end of the ice, which are pretty important to scoring. With the addition of Roy, Kesler can go back to worrying about checking and let the offence come naturally. This really is a big deal for us.

Roy 22 pts in 30 games this year? That seems pretty close to his career average
