Chicago Hotels last minute

Hopefully our Hawks are still playing regardless, im coming to the windy city, obviously a 2-3 star hotels last minute is 3-400$ so what I was wondering was: Is it that bad of an idea to stay near O'Hare and pay parking downtown? Go into the city for the day and go back at night, the rates are 60-140$ for3-4 and half stars just outside of the city.

Only coming for two nights, thought perhaps could get away with staying just outside downtown, any feedback would greatly be appreciated,

You can definitely do that. I'd suggest taking the blue line into the city instead of driving. The Kennedy, the expressway between O'Hare and downtown, can be a nightmare.

You should easily pay $150 unless you're wanting to stay at the Four Seasons.

Hotwire is the way to go imo. They have hotels (4 stars and up) from 66$ to around 150. I just looked real quick for you.. Also, like someone else said, just take the blue line in to the city. Just take a cab from the train, to the uc. Should be less then 10 min.. Probably the best/cheapest way to go.. Get a nicer hotel by Ohare. Theres a lot of ****hole/bad hotels off Manheim Rd.

H.I. Chicago

I don't know your age or if you are traveling single.... But I've used hostel international (H.I) several times.

When I went to a Knicks game at MSG I stayed at the H.I. in NYC also stayed at an H.I. when I visited Fenway and caught a Redsox game.

H.I Chicago is located on Congress between Wabash & State and you probably would pay 40.00 to stay per night. If you have a decent game for the international scene you could probably pull a date out of the hostel.

The Congress Hotel is probably the most reasonably priced downtown hotel. 140-150 price range

p.s. Chicago, Toronto & NYC are three N. American cities I would choose not to take my car. The price for parking will likely be double the price of taking a cab.
