Buying the jersey of a rental? Must be nice to have cash to burn.

I find it kinda funny the amount of Bruins fans talking about the Penguins in this thread.
Pens envy

I also find it funny reading the old Iginla thread all the way up to the time he was traded to the Pens. Before that, Iggy was God to most. My, how opinions change easily.

As for the deal itself, good pickup for the B's. Jags is a tireless worker, strong as hell on his skates and still has immense talent. He should help in the playoffs. They should be a top 3 contender from the east.

I know he was recovering from injuries last playoff but I doubt he'll be much more useful than last year.

I find it funny that you are so insecure that you have to comment. I hated the Iginla deal. Overpayment for a rental. He will be good for your team though.

Jagr is better though. Not worried about that.

Now it's official. Jagr is a Bruin. DAL gets MacDermid, Payne and conditional 2nd round pick.

last second the Pens pick up Jagr as well?

if the trade is done then to be honest the Iggy trade not happening is a blessing in disguise in my POV. Just happy we didnt get rid of Khokhlachev and to be honest if Lucic picks it up, Lucic is what Iggy essentially is and our problems isn't being tough... Thats where Jagr comes in, a scoring presences in the PP and vet leadership much like what Recchi brought to the table.

I definitely don't think it's any skin off the Penguins' nose, but at the same time he will give us problems if we play them.

But, let's step back for a second. Jagr is one of the best offensive players of all time...and he's perhaps the best "cycler" of all time and that is something the Bruins thrive on to create offense. they also needed a left shot desperately. The Bruins have plenty of defensively sound forwards on the squad, but they have been missing pure offense all season. My gut tells me this move, especially considering what the Bruins gave up, is at least as good as the attempted Iginla trade...in terms of hwat the Bruins really need. They have always had good leadership...they really just need dependable scoring.

If the Bruins are able to bring in a guy like Mark Streit to help the Powerplay...the Bruins could be very dangerous.

How do these lines look to you guys?

Lucic Krejci Jagr
Marchand Bergeron Seguin
Soderberg Peverly Horton
Paille Kelly Campbell

Chara Seidenberg
Streit Boychuck
Ference Hamilton

Not as good as these lines

Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
Neal-Malkin-Iginla
Morrow-Sutter-Cooke
Glass-Adams-Kennedy

Orpik-Martin
Letang-Despres
Murray-Niskanen

Bortuzzo-Engellend-Eaton

I'd still rather have Iggy for his leadership and toughness that he brings even though Jagr is more of a goal scorer. Not a bad constellation prize for Boston though. He probably fits more for what Boston needs while Iggy fits more for what the Pens need. I would say both teams got what they needed.
