I truly hope that Luo doesn't end up a Leaf, they don't deserve him.

Unfortunately, the Canucks are in the more enviable position, as they have no need as dire as the Leafs' need for sustainable goaltending.
Didn't we hear all the same arguments at the start of the season?

Leafs need goaltending, Leafs are desperate, etc.

None of that has panned out. Reimer has better stats than Luongo this year, and as of this moment, the Leafs are actually looking down at the Canucks in the standings.

This isn't the Toronto team of two years ago. This Leafs team is talented, deep, and playing well. We aren't desperate to make any move.

Alright well that isn't really adding anything we don't already know to the conversation.

I would rather this not turn into a Leaf fan vs Canuck fan debate on Luongo's contract and whatnot.

This is about everything else as much as it is Luongo, and any Luongo discussion would hopefully be just that, discussion and not a pissing match that derails and locks the thread.

I'd be ok giving up a combination of
Liles
Holzer
MacArthur
2nd

If that isn't close than just walk away..with all the potential goalies available in the summer..(Howard,Backstrom,Smith,Bernier,Miller etc) plus perhaps the chance to get Kipper or Khabby for cheap...

I don't think I'm alone either..a poll done on Leafs Lunch today between Reimer Lu Kipper who would ppl like starting the remainder of the season/playoffs...it was a landslide for Reims

Fingers crossed we get Korbinian Holzer and a 2nd round pick!

If that's the return, I'd rather just eat Roberto Luongo.

Yeah, I'd rather have his 5.3 mill cap hit as our goaltending coach over those scrubs.

That would lead in the direction of a winger, which would probably be Frattin, Kulemin or MacArthur. Kulemin doesn't appear to be expendable from your side of the ledger. He's a pretty good player who you will want to keep in the fold, that would leave MacArthur who as a rental might be expendable and is a nice stop gap option for us, or else Frattin as you mention and I added onto.

Anyways I think we are going to need to add a winger it would be nice coming from a Luongo deal, but if not then thats fine there are others out there.
I can only see MG Only Liking Franson Frattin Kadri Bozak Colborne... maybe Kulemin. MacArthur is basically a 3rd/4th liner for us, Schroeder is just as good as him imo and he plays less minuets as it is...

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Higgins Kesler Hansen
Raymond Roy Schroeder
Kassian Lapy Weise/Sestito/Pinizotto

We want Crosby but I'd be ok giving up a combination of
Ebbett
Sestito
Alberts
Barker
7th

Indeed, we do, and happy to have him. But we also need a right-handed defensive defensemen, somebody like Robidas.

What you want to give up does not equal what you will give for a number one goaltender.

Meh. I don't really see him as a need myself.

I'm kinda interested in Jamie McBain as I mentioned earlier. Or Calgary appears to be selling. Maybe Blake Comeau would be a nice rental addition if he can come at a good price. Aswell Chuck Kobasew might be a nice depth addition. He adds speed and versitility. And he's a rental so there is no commitment.

MacArthur would be a 4th liner for us prob, Liles can hardly crack your lineup, so how can he ours? Also Holzer is ok, but nothing more than a bottom pairing guy.

MacArthur is alot more comparable to Higgins than Schroeder. I think MacArthur has a bit more offensive skill than Higgins though.

If we could get him I would do it. A Two-way guy, can play with grit, not alot of size but can add offense too. Maybe we would give him that spark Higgins got when he came over and if so he would be a really nice addition alongside say Kesler.

Torres adds speed and hitting and played a big role in the 2011 run. He has helped us before, he can again the way i look at it. Plus game 1 SCF game winner, so he's scored big goals for us before as well.

Yes a contract that gives a team elite top 7 goaltending at a steal of a caphit, you do realize these BDC contracts were banned because of how good they are right, not because of how bad they are. Also with the NTC falling off in 2017-2018 allowing whoever has him to get 4-5 years out of him and then pass him onto Flordia on a 1.5M salary.

My god you guys don't really know what his contract has in it or how it works do you?

Like how you guys pretend all your players are better yet line for line the Leafs have out scored you, out saved you and have a better overall record. This isn't the Leafs of 1 or 2 years ago.

I see Torres as a fit if they're looking for another bottom-six guy. We're at a bit of a logjam in that position internally, but if it's going to help us make a push and move guys like Weise out of the lineup you have to be interested.
