Pathetic proposal.

GlenX for 1st 2013 + CGY 2nd 2013... You can throw in Weber if you want.

Prices have been low all year but I'd still expect GlenX to net really good value. 29 year old, 2.5 mil, hits, scores, sets up plays, backchecks, gritty, 60+ points per season. Not to mention the fact that it's gonna probably take extra since Calgary most likely wants to hang on to him.

Player with an NMC, that has been clear about his desire to stay in Alberta. Sure, lets start another proposal for him.

Certainly worth considering, but if we're giving up our 1st I'm not sure a guy like GlennX is our most pressing need. Would probably make more sense to put that asset towards a D improvement. Also not sure the Flames would want to deal with us, even if we were the only option. They'll need some vets to lead the charge, and GlennX is one of those blue collar muckers that plays with some grit. Important if your going to have some young talent inserted in the lineup, gotta have a gritty vet or two to open up space out there.

Basic point of my first comment is he's 99% likely to remain a Flame.

I'd give Calgary their second back and Leblanc.

Glencross won't be traded he or Gio is the next captain and the team sees him as part of the solution unless you are offering 1st+ or a top prospect we simply won't consider it don't care if that seems like vast overpayment thats what it will take.

I can guarantee you the Sens will send you a much more enticing package than that.

I love how homers make proposals to send their garbage out to another team and try and justify it. I see so many people in TO trying to throw in Kulemin in hypotheticals or Oilers fans with Hemsky. And then try and justify it by saying the player that they would be trading for sucks. C'mon man.

Glencross is a 25-30 goal scorer with grit, leadership, and a very attractive salary hit - even more attractive with the changing salary cap. He would fetch a lot more than that proposal, but I highly doubt he waives his NTC.

You got two NCAA players and a pick for your captain. You're not getting a first round pick for him

Iginla's and Glencross' situations are completely different - one a 35-year old, soon-to-be UFA with a $7M cap hit and the other a 29-year old winger with 2 years left with a $2.5M cap hit. Glencross, if traded, would likely get a comparable return as Iginla did.

Fine, then we'll keep him.

Someone has to play next season.

Montreal is not dealing their first for Glencross. Won't happen. Leblanc/Kristo + 2nd would be something to work around.
