It's an alright deal, not too great. Great deals for Handzus and Murray; those were addition by subtraction. Clowe, not so much. He was great on the 3rd line.

You are one of the few rational ones

Seriously, I joined in on the Couturier stuff for fun. I can't believe there are actually people who think we were getting a Kreider or another top young player for a 30 year old impending UFA winger with 0 goals this season.

I love when a reporter has to use "reportedly"

Kevin Kurz ‏@KKurzCSN 2m

The #SJSharks will send Ryane Clowe to the #Rangers, reportedly for draft picks http://www.csnbayarea.com/blog/kevin...-clowe-rangers

If Clowe doesn't re-sign, he gets us less than Murray

Still think it's fair value though, imagine if the tables were reversed and the Sharks gave up the same for just 12 games. The rumors inflated his perceived value. Clowe's not worth more than Iginla, Jagr, etc

3 picks is a lot imo. And I can see Ryane re-signing with the NYR.

Aside from screwing up the Clowe deal he did well on the other two. Clowe, Handzus, Murray for (potentially) 3 2nds, a 3rd and a 4th.

Could be 2 2nds, a 3rd, a 4th and a 5th though and that is very meh.

Rangers picks this year are 2,3,3,3,3,4,6 and then next year 1,2,3,4,5,5,6

So we got a 2nd and one 3rd this year and then maybe their 2nd if he resigns next year?

Potentially 4 2nds if Murray re-signs.

No, because the picks will be higher. It's not that cut and dry.

Here's to the Rangers beating Pitt in the second round of the playoff eh?

(I hope I did that math right, that would ensure us both conditional picks, right-right?)

I'd have been much, much happier if he made these deals in the off-season and then signed Sasha. But whatever.

DW doesn't need to flip picks for another forward. Nieto is here to save us.

Also fair deal for Clowe considering pending UFA and Jagr / Iggy trades. Classic overreaction from HF vets. Must be the trade deadline

No, hope Florida loses every game, hope NYR loses every game, hope Pitts loses every game, then Pitts and NYR re-sign Murray/Clowe

Anyone expect any more moves from DW tomorrow for a roster player?
Clowe would never return a top prospect as a rental. His play also didn't warrant that. This is a solid return for him. I don't think DW is finished.

I don't think we got what i would call full value here, looks like other interested teams bailed and make other deals and we had fewer options and got what we could. Sather
really took DW on this.

So Jamie McBain is being held out of the line-up tonight by Carolina. And DW just got another 2nd. What's the chance he gets McBain, and has a deal in place to flip Boyle??

You know how much DW loves trading with Carolina.

Or it could be... nothing! And Clowe, Murray and Zus could've all walked away for free in the Summer just like Parise and Suter did last offseason.

DW did well given the circumstances. And we're still in the Playoffs!!!

hrm i wonder if this means we are punting this season though. we offed off 3 parts of our depth for nothing but picks. thats 3 positions we need to fill with our not very good prospect pool. at any rate it looks like we are starting our really needed rebuild.
