I guess it's worth the investment if he puts his game back together and becomes worth re-signing. But needless to say it's a bit hard to imagine him being the piece that puts this team over the top this year. Weird little deal.
Fair deal for both sides. Clowe will pick his game up and be a difference maker in NY. One of those trades that wont be decided for years until we see what those picks are. Good luck in the playoffs, NYR!
I'm sure he will pick up his game, like Gomez, Richards and holik. rangers are a graveyard for overpriced talent.
If that's all it took, and the Habs sat back with 3 second rounders and 2 thirds, I'm pretty choked.
Thats how you build a great hockey team. Large prospect pool that you can take advantage of in the future when they pay dividends for your team or as a great bargaining chip. A drafted decent prospect is worth much more than a 2nd pick or a rental piece on a team that is succeeding without him.
Honestly, if the Sharks had no intention of re-signing him, not a bad deal at all. But, definitely was expecting a lot more personally.
Good deal for Rangers for sure, though. Even if he doesn't add in the scoring department (Though I think he most definitely will), Rangers add much needed depth. A lot tougher to play against, that's for sure.
Complete bull ****. They wouldn't give the A to him if he was a locker room cancer
He's had the A for a while, has he not? And I know he's publicly spoken out about teammates' work ethics in the past (although I think was referring more to Heatley than anyone else). But I don't think it's impossible.
