He probably didn't come to the Avs board and see it. If you're on the main HF page, all you would see is "Gaunce to Dallas" if that was the last post.

I was not in the Avs section, I was on HFboards main page where it shows each division, with the most recent thread (which was this one).

Fair point, but I wasn't in your section.

Also, Vancouver just did a trade with Dallas, and apparently Vancouver wants to make another little move, so it seemed fairly reasonable to me.

But I will take your advice and try to be a bit calmer

Gaunce is much better than our organization perceived him to be. He was regularly stuck behind inferior defensemen in every aspect of the game. His defensive game has improved considerably and while plus/minus isn't the greatest statistic, it is indicative when the guy finishes a season +21 and the next closest D is a +3. He is defensively sound, solid first pass, can skate and is just a good two-way defenseman. Always liked him since he captained the Majors here, really hope he gets a shot in Big D.

Possible bottom six banger. Seems alright to me.

Agree with you. Hope he gets a shot in Dallas. A Dillon-Gaunce pairing would pile up some PIMS

Oh man I was really happy when we got Gaunce and saw him here in Mississauga during junior, he was awesome. Wasn't bad in his little spell on the main club either. Not notable unlike our current three idiots who always make obvious mistakes.

Never got a fair shake I guess but at least we got an asset who they'll be more likely to make use of. Vincour isn't a fighter and I don't think he's a hitter either nor does he score so might just be another tweener, meh.

While I don't have the option to watch Major Junior games here in Kansas (at least realistically/affordably)

I always thought that Gaunce got a raw deal here...I thought he played decently in his only NHL time and wondered WHY some of the Defensemen we played ahead of him were played....

But I echo your sentiments, I hope that he gets a "more fair" shake in Dallas.

Vincour hits more than you are giving him credit for.

Bordeleau, too. Hey Vincour has to be better than VDG or Plushy in the bottom 6, right?

Kinda interested, bc some of the Dal fans seem to think he wasn't given proper minutes and has some upside. Hopefully this becomes another mcginn trade, and the guy gets some confidence and becomes a decent pickup. Don't remember ever seeing him in a game though.

If Vincour paces McGinn's 13pts in 17gms that'd be great. But the staff likely won't be giving him top line minutes. Over his last 5 games he's averaged 6:52, the only Av in that territory is Bordeleau, and they have much different roles.

Hey at least he's a roster player...

Valid points on everything you said....but I still think any team isn't going to create a new thread about another team making a depth trade.

But alas, like I said, I do see your point, an adjustment will be made to the Thread title

Didn't mean be as good as mcginn, just like a similar situation. To have him exceed expectations into a serviceable 3rd liner more seems like hed be a decent player to have screening a goalie on an energy line

Looks like he has decent grit so he can play in bottom six. And his number say decent skill. If it's enough for being an NHL-player... remains to be seen.

Does anyone know if he has to pass through waivers if we want to send him down?

It doesn't show which board the thread is on. When you're on the main page, all it would say is "Gaunce to Dallas". That's it. Until you actually click on the thread or go to the individual boards, you wouldn't know if it was posted on the Avs, Canucks, Flames, Oilers, or Wild board.

Ya ya.. I know you guys hate this guy cause he got Lando wrong. But still...

Corey Pronman ‏@coreypronman 2m
On the DAL-COL trade: Vincour's a hard-working forward with solid size and some offensive skill. Has a few issues, but could be a bottom 6. Vincour is NHL ready as well. Gaunce is a steady, low upside defensive dman who could be a 6-7 D. Skating isn't the best with him.

I'm not sure what you're saying...because when I just go to "hfboards.com" I get to see all of the Forums and Sub Forums for the teams.

So if he sees the "Colorado Avalanche" forum and sees that a thread was created here, why would he assume that we were talking about the Vancouver Gaunce?

If he's referring to the MAIN Trade Forum, well we have no control over that.

So I'm a bit confused

You see the last thread that was posted in within the NW Division. But you don't know if it's on the Avs board, the Nucks board, or any other NW board.
