Once he warmed up a bit, he did actually play pretty well.

Wonder how much this dinged Schneider's stats....

I expect him not to be traded........it just uncommon for a goalie to be traded

I still say we keep Luongo and trade Schneider. I think Lui has a few good years left in him yet.

The question is which teams would trade for him. According to Eklund earlier today Tor, Wsh, NJ, Fl, and Buffalo could all be in the mix.

Elliot Friedman says that we trade Luongo if a impact center comes back

Of course we would trade him for that. But who is going to offer us one?

Gotta stagger players leaving/entering prime. We don't want to see all our guys living at once. This is a perfect place to keep the younger franchise player, even if that means getting little for Luongo.

I wonder what that actually means to MG. Crosby or Bozak?

If Florida was interested I think Canucks could get:

Goc + Howden + Clemennson

For

Luongo

Question is are they going to be happy with making it to the playoffs and getting destroyed in the first round, or do they want some added help in Lou for a real shot?

Maybe you are right but I think Schneiders return would be worth it.

But what would his return be? I have a feeling it just would not be worth it.

Highly doubt this because contract max is 8 years, and Canucks cap structure is very strong. Could imagine if Cory is an all-star over the next couple of years, 6-6.5 on 6-8 years. If he is not an all star then look at 5-5.5 range over the same term. Either way we need to stagger our player ages, so everyone does not leave at once.

They're going to be ecstatic just to finally get back to the playoffs, which at this point they are a near-lock to make. I just don't see any reason why they would risk that on a speculative trade that involves significant pieces from their end.
