He's going from a playoff team to not. Let's try not to read to much into an interview that was done three minutes after he found out he was traded.

Erat is very underrated player, IMO not a really bad trade for the Caps

He just learned about it 3 minutes before, probably hasn't even had time to process it yet.

Disagree, Forsberg is an elite level prospect and despite Erat being underrated, Preds fans don't even think he could have put up the same numbers as Forsberg in the SEL.

#1 thing missing from this entire discussion is: We're all considering Bishop as he's played PRE-FRANTZ JEAN!!!

You guys have no idea what flavor of Pampers Staining Poo he's gonna be after Jean gets his hands on him.

FYI, I like this trade. Love Conacher, but clearly the most expendable (and valueable) F we had playing with the Bolts.

Yeah I wasn't saying he hated the idea of being traded here, just that he didn't sound thrilled, which is understandable.

The Sens room is tight...and hes leaving goalie coach Rick Wamsley who he also had in St. Louis.

He wants to be a #1 goalie, and he's competitive.

Sens fans wish we could of kept him.

Good for Cory he was a Boucher guy, as soon as Cooper came in you new he was done. People forget Cooper had him on the forth line in Syracuse. Cooper prefers bigger players and now Honey Badger can reach his potential in another city. If Bishop becomes a solid number one it's a good trade, if not many people will be remembering this day for all the wrong reasons.

By the sounds of Yzerman's interview, he wasn't pleased with Cory's effort in the second half of the season.

If that was a main factor in SY trading him, it would be absolute horse ****. It's his first year in the league and he was getting like 10 mins or less of ice time lately.

Another thing to Bishop is what a beast he is in the shootout. Just fearless and really knows how to shut down the shooters. And he closes up that big five hole deceptively well considering his size. It's still an issue, but he's really been improving.

But try to put some stock in what Sens fans are saying about him, because we're not trying to go out of our way to make you guys feel better about the trade; it's that we legitimately like him.

At the very least, he has to be better than Garon, right?

Also, we got handsomer. I think.

He might have had a hand in Connolly being called up, but I don't think it has anything to do with picking one over the other. That would be left up to Yzerman.

Yes, Lionel, Charlie and Roy Conacher.

I didn't get that at all from Yzerman. It's well documented Coop has benched him a few times in the past, but his game is all hustle. Nobody can say he didn't give a good effort.

We'll see, Ottawa was grinding it out for wins, players playing 2 way games up and down the roster and buying into the coaches system, Tampa is where all goalies get exposed because of poor defense and no system what so ever.

How many nights this year have we all said that Conacher was one of our best players, he's had very few bad games this year despite it being his very first year in the NHL.

I think the thing that bites the worst is that we could've had Bishop for a 2nd last year..

That may well be true, but Bishop stole games for us this season, especially in the early going when we were freshly decimated by injuries. He won us some games that we had no business collecting points in.

True, but you never spent a draft pick on Conacher, so outside of player value you didn't lose anything. Just food for thought.

He kept repeating how he was so great... the first half of the season. He said that every time he spoke of Conacher's abilities.

Also, do we plan on drafting this year? How many picks do we have left?

Also, we basically told Garon he can **** off. Why didn't Yzerman try to shop him?

Or maybe he did? Who knows.

This theory has already been proven to be useless, since we never spent a draft pick on Marty either, but we would have lost A LOT had we traded him. Who cares about whether or not we used a pick on Cory?

How much is Bishop expected to resign for?

In millions:
1-2
2-4
4-6
6+

I doubt we would get anything besides future considerations and keeping him for now also allows CD to go back to Syracuse.

It's a rookie thing. Same with Connolly last year. Started off hot right out of the gates and then cooled off and faced the obstacles all rookies face.

We have 6 picks for this draft:

Our 1st round pick
Our 2nd round pick
Our 5th round pick
Our 6th round pick
Our 7th round pick
Carolina's 7th round pick (MAB trade)

picks traded away:

Our 3rd (traded for Lindback)
Our 4th (traded for Crombeen)
Philly 4th from the Kubina trade (traded for Bishop)
