If Kipper is off the table that is excellent news.

Was really wishing Kipper would go to Toronto so we wouldn't have to worry that Gillis would dump Luongo there for the Leafs trash. Not so confident anymore.

If Luongo was getting offered out there for trash (by Gillis) then the deal would already be done.

I think you're the only poster that actually feels Luongo has great value.

McKenzie: Deal will be a real "soft" deal for Luongo (if he goes to Toronto) - won't be much coming back

Well there's absolutely nothing, and then there's trash. Perhaps Gillis is asking for trash and the Leafs are wanting him for absolutely nothing?

Gillis seems to feel the same way otherwise you would've seen him move long ago.

For a Luongo fan, you seem to be expecting awfully little back.

Doubt this really changes much on the Luongo front, to be honest. My impression is that Toronto has been trying to lowball us the whole time; them striking out on a band-aid solution isn't likely to change that, IMO.

Better off seeking a deal from another team.

Not really. Gillis could be asking for something reasonable back and Nonis may not be offering even that. Gillis may not be holding out for Jake Gardiner or Morgan Reilly, but even Kulemin and a 2nd rounder for all we know.

I'm firmly in the camp that beleives he has moderate to low value on the market.

Being a fan of a team or player doesn't mean you can't be realistic based on what's being reported. I don't think I've ever been a blind supporter of anything or anyone.

Starting to feel sick now that Toronto is talking about MacArthur for Luongo. That disgusts me.

You need not worry, Kipper was being targeted to be a short term vet "backup/mentor" for Reimer, Luongo is none of that.

I'd laugh if lou goes to another team and TO, if they make the playoffs, get lit up. no no Nonis would look great then.

What's being reported is a bunch of speculation. Earlier the rumour was Bozak + Kadri + pick... there's nothing to backup that he's looking for a 'soft' deal or that a 'soft' deal is even being discussed.

You may be surprised to know that many of us aren't expecting a cup this year. Nonis won't be viewed any differently if we lose in the 1st round.....in fact, keeping our young assets will still keep him in good stead around here.

MacArthur is actually not a bad winger for your third line. Doesn't look like much on the stat sheet, but does the little things well and seems to adapt well with whomever he's playing with. Teams were offering first round picks for him last year.

To Van: Pominville, Scrivens

To Toronto: Luongo

To Buffalo: MacAurthur, TO's 2nd or 3rd, Raymond

We don't need anyone else like that, we already have Higgins, Hansen, Raymond, Booth. WE need someone who will show up on the stat sheet.
