Big fan of Budish. I think he's one of those guys that might actually be a better pro than a college player, even if it's carving out a career as a third liner. Big body, physical, unafraid. He's not far away from being NHL ready.

entry-level contracts are always two-way.

Kind of incredible that he's still a prospect in a way, considering his name has been out there since he's been 15 or 16. He doesn't seem to have the same upside many thought he had when he was a kid, but I think the Preds will have a solid NHLer on their hands with him.

He's been at the U of Minnesota for the last three years (including most of a season missed due to injury). I believe he's 22. The U of M bio site has him at 6'3/214 lbs!

Interesting guy. A sure fire projected 1st rounder until he blew out a knee in high school football, which scared people and dropped him to the 2nd round. Preds fans (including me) were elated, thinking we had the steal of the draft. Then he goes to college and has a freaky moped accident that, if I recall, screwed up the other knee. He progress slowly, agonizingly slowly, and most lost interest and hope.

I definitely agree that he is better suited to the pro game than college game and in some ways is two years behind on development. Huge body and showed great skills early and, to a lesser extent, more recently. Not dissimilar to Taylor Beck who recently arrived in town to play a tolerable combo of skill and physicality. He will need two years with the Ads before we know whether we have anything... but I'm still cautiously optimistic that a breakout could happen and upside is better than currently expected.

good signing, one of my favorite prospects as the kid has had terrible luck health wise. hopefully that is all behind him now and he can just focus on playing instead of healing.

big and skilled, kid could surprise many next year as he isnt 18 years old...he might be ready for the NHL faster than some think.

His game took a big step forward this year at U of M. I wouldn't have minded them giving him one more year, but most felt that he was ready to turn pro.
