And besides Cheechoo went from 37 to 23 to 12, with 15-20 games missed in those last two seasons.

That's a lot to deal with as a young guy. This is a weird season. He hasn't looked good but it looks like he is over-thinking to me, like he is READY for a defensive breakdown and it is affecting his game.

I honestly think he will be a pretty good nhl defenseman at some point or at the very least, he shows signs of it.
Larsen has taken a big step back. He certainly can be better. He was last season.

But Larsen is a guy who is going to have to be better than just okay to stick around in this league because of his tiny size. It's not fair, but that's the way the league is. If he's just a generic spare, most teams will prefer to go with a bigger guy who is equally bad.

For Larsen to stick around, he needs to work his tail off to try to become the next Robidas. Larsen doesn't have much offensive skill to his game and not much size, so his way to keeping his job is through being dependable positionally and reliable with the puck on his stick.

Robidas is a guy fans are frustrated with today, but he has had a long career built upon relentless effort and solid play. He was never extra good at anything, but he was a guy coaches could trust to do a good job in most any situation. Sure, Robidas lost battles because he is undersized, but more often than not he was in the right place at the right time.

If Larsen can find a way to duplicate that, he will be in the NHL for a long time. He needs to be a guy coaches trust. Unfortunately, he might bounce around like Robidas before he figures it out enough for a team to want to keep him around long term.

Fire Gully now. Kids getting benched across the board. Way to kill any confidence they might be getting this game by stacking vets on two lines. Coaching to win according to R and R.

Roussel is terrible... now that the adrenaline of being called up to the NHL is wearing off it should become more apparent to others. Roussel had at least twice the amount of turnovers lately that Vincour did, of course Vincour is the one that gets shipped off.

Man, Getzlaf has been a beast this season. What a resurgence.

Looked like Perry was offsides to me, but I don't care.

Complaining about Gulutzan stacking his lines to try and score another goal is kind of like complaining about Cody Eakin backchecking too hard and "playing to win".

Trying to win is what players and coaches do. Even the not very good ones.

If Robidas skated a few more strides instead of hanging back that never happens...
