Erat & Michael Latta to the Capitals for Filip Forsberg

Just getting information now...

Holy crap.

Nick Kypreos ‏@RealKyper 35s
Hearing the #Caps waiting on a trade to announce they've traded for #Preds Martin Erat. #tradetracker

Nick Cotsonika‏@cotsonika3m
Informed speculation: Erat for Forsberg, with some other things involved. Erat has a no-trade clause but wants out.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie now
As per @Real_ESPNLeBrun, NSH trades Michael Latta and Martin Erat to WSH for Filip Forsberg.

Its a good move, but Erat has been with the team for a long time and it is kind of sad.

Erat AND Latta now....not really psyched about this. Although I'm not too familiar with Forsberg must be honest.

Now that's a move. Trade a vet, get back an elite FORWARD prospect. Good job Poile.

What makes Forsberg special?

Other than the fact he's a scoring machine

Other than the fact he's a #1 C

Other than the fact Nashville could still be good next yr...

so.... anyone want to question poiles willingness to make a bold move?

I must say im a bit surprised that we are dumping Erat just when his contract is getting cheap but if Erat asked to be traded then Poile did the right thing...

But hasn't been playing like one. This franchise is a disaster.

Fair enough. Feeling better now.

At very least, like V82 said, it's bold. Something I haven't seen from Poile in a while.

I was hoping to poach Erat up here. Forsberg is an awesome pickup for y'all, tho. Good stuff.

Everybody wanted a move well Poile just made it. Wow. Don't know much about Forsberg but if he's the top line player that we desperately need then the trade will be totally worth it.

TSN has him listed as a wing and his numbers other than 2010-11 in swedish Jrs are "meh"

but he was a 1st round pick last summer so I'll defer to other's judgement

Amazing trade. Can't ****in believe we got Forsberg out of it, what a steal.

And for the Rangers side of me, I'm glad they didn't trade him to a team I can't ****in stand like Pittsburgh or New Jersey. I can deal with Washington.

oh holy crap... you're already writing him off? he's EIGHTEEN

Erat wanted out and Poile got what he could for him... you complain when Poile does nothing, then you complain when he makes a bold, unexpected move....
