This is all circumstantial though. Who knows how players will perform in a new setting.
Gaborik is pretty good defensively. He's underrated by Rangers fans because he's not a maniac at blocking shots or throwing the body. With his injury history, i'd prefer he didn't do that anyway. He's awesome at stick checking and has speed that can get him back in the play a lot.

He's been skating pretty well lately. Look for him to light it up down the stretch. He had six shots on goal last game. he's been shooting like an animal but the pucks that used to go in aren't. His shooting percentage is absurdly low. If it evens out just a little he'll start potting a decent amount.

Well setting is the key. I think Anisimov is gonna be a better player in Columbus than he would have been here. We'll see if Brassard does the same.

You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. I've watched gaborik play nearly 300 NHL games. Get a grip.

If you're going to live in a hole, then don't come in to discussion in which you don't know anything about the player.

Brass and Moore will both be in the lineup tonight vs Pitt. Very quick turnaround.

Stepan and potentially both Brassard and Miller could be playing center long term. Richards' contract is also long term.
Rangers will find another sucker team to dump Richards.

Man up. If your coach is on your a**, maybe you should look on the mirror. Al Arbour was a total a**hole to his players when they deserved it. His methods must have worked. He got the most out of his players. Maybe if gabby did what his coach wants, he and the team wouldn't be struggling.

Nash > Gaborik

Dorsett < Dubinsky

Brassard </> Anisimov

Moore </> Erixon

Delisle, 3rd + 6th < 1st

Nash is younger, locked up longer than Gaborik and brings more intangibles so I'd call this a very fair deal.

Only thing I hate is that we haven't got the 1st or 2nd this year. Look at this draft year!

No sour grapes at all. I can't stand the Rangers. I hope this trade bites them real hard. Just my take on gabby. Others may not agree, which is fine.

Brassard is 25, good speed, but he's basically a 40 point player. Hopefully he can reach his potential. But he's no Stepan so hold your horses...

They get a solid player in Brassard, though. Not great but really Gaborik is just not a warrior. Seems like people overrate Gaborik in this thread. Guys with poor knowledge in winning hockey games.

We got a 25 year old 40 point player who haven't reached his potential (drafted 6th overall) so you're overvaluing him.

Moore, Brassard, Dorsett that's how I'd rate their values. Gabby is still Gabby. You don't have to like him, doesn't change the fact that he's a great scorer.

Parlett is the epitome of useless. He's just a dead weight contract that had to be moved because we went over 50.

your exactly right! huge fan of gaborik, he can score goals and a lot of them.. but when hes not scoring.. you cant count on him to hit to gain momentum for your team... stand up for teammates.. hes a soft player.. I'll miss him but i think we got a great return and columbus will be happy as well..

Meh he's alright, most likely career AHLer. CBJ has crazy D depth.

Johnson, Wiz, Nikitin, Tyutin, Erixon, Savard, Murray and so on. He's not gonna overtake those players tbh. So basically throw ins for their AHL affiliate IMO. But you never know.

Odds are that he won't be a NHLer though.
