Just talked to Fletcher for awhile #mnwild; says he hopes Pominville makes his #mnwild debut tomorrow in LA. Travel logistics right now

It would be amazing if Minnesota chokes and they win the lottery for #1 and it's ours.
I think they'll make the playoffs, but we need to make sure (1) they don't make the conference finals and lock their pick into the 27-30 range, and (2) they don't win their division because non-division winners pick before division winners regardless of points.

Put simply, everyone needs to dust off their Derek Roy jerseys and root for Vancouver. Lets. Go. Nucks!

I'd be ecstatic if the 1st ended up being the 21st pick like we got from Nashville last year but obviously I am hoping somehow they miss the playoffs. The west is tight, anything can happen.

Crud - he would have been on NBCSN two consecutive nights too - as they are televising the Wild-Sharks game at 10:30 pm ET.

In what planet?

Both Hackett and Larsson are as valuable as Koko if not better.

After hearing Regier speak today I think Peverly would be a wasted player on this team. Regier doesn't sound like a guy who wants to make the playoffs next year either. Including this year it sounds like they're on a 2-3 year rebuild.

Would not be shocked if Devine and Regier have been telling camp fire stories about Connor McDavid to Pegula and Black by the way Regier was talking today.

I think Pominville will end up leading the league in played games this year with 49 . That is pretty cool.

Yeah. Most people called the original Larsson/Hackett/JP deal pretty much 50l50 and what most sane, unbiased people would expect.

Getting the 1st, and exchange of picks next year makes it daylight robbery.

but in the game of determining what Pommer's trade value was... i was much closer than "ZOMG start with an Elite Prospect and a 1st, and then add a 25 yr old defensemen"

I'm sold on Darcy staying at the helm after this deal. I don't think there are many GMs in the league who can get value for their assets like Regier. Can't believe he was able to get a 1st and 2nd in '14 as well. It's amazing what he can do when the chains are taken off of him.

That being said, I look forward to an exciting Summer. I'm thinking Vanek is gone since he said he doesn't want to be a part of a long re-build. I shudder to think of what we could acquire for him and Miller.

We're going to look drastically different next year, and I welcome that thought with open arms.

This summer has a lot more to do with Regier's longevity than today did. He's got a LOT of work ahead of him this off-season.

I think Vanek is gone...he doesn't seem interested in being part of a rebuild. Miller might feel the same way.

Whomever is running the future drafts, they have plenty of ammo to work with. Plus we have some cap room and lots of young talent. Doesn't loo too bad right now.

And THANK YOU Jason Pominville, you played your butt off for the Sabres, you'll be missed!

This was actually much closer. Unless Hackett, Larsson and a 2nd are viewed as much worst than an elite prospect and 25 year old defensemen.

This was a great deal in every way. Media going after Regier are nuts. He totally maximized value. It's no lock Minny wins division or first round, could be solid pick. It also doesn't mean total rebuild. Look at cap space and Pegula bucks, anything possible. New coach, couple of mid level UFAs and who knows.

I don't want to be negative about the return we got. I love it. Especially Larsson... but yes, a return of Bjugstad and Kulikov would be a much bigger return... and that's the type of return some on this board were expecting (they were crazy)
