Thornton, Pavs and Juicy are the slowest. Vlasic is fine speed wise but slow mentally in making passes.

Marleau, Havlat, Gomez, Desi, TJ, Wingels, Burns, Burish, Torres and Sheppard are all fast

Demers, Braun, Boyle, Stuart, Irwin,
Pavs is probably the slowest. Jumbo and Cooch have above average speed. I really like what DW has done.

Except Couture isn't "slow". He moves around the ice very quickly now.

I'll definitely never hate anyone more than Belfour. And for current players I think I hate Perry more. Top-5 most hated seems about right for Torres.

Pavs is the slowest by far. Juice has juice when he's fresh. Thornton too when he has time to accelerate. Pavs is just well, slow. There are moments when he moves the puck up the ice but thats about it. Overall, we're waaaaaay faster than we were a few weeks ago. Crazy

Can't root for this guy, and it's not just about Michalek. He'd have to score the GWG in a significant playoff series for me to come around to him. Same trajectory as Roenick -- didn't even give him a chance until his epic game 7 vs. Calgary.

As far as advanced statistics go, does someone keep track of number of penalties DRAWN by a player? I'd love to see how many PIM Torres has drawn this year as compared to his PIM (13) and compare it to years past.

Playoffs are about paying the price.

The fanbase has not paid the price ... until now

Raffi Torres has .4 penalties both taken and drawn per 60, per BTN.

Watching him play with Marleau and Wingels, I couldn't help but notice the same thing. His speed looks to be decidedly above average, which is not what I recall from years past.

Yup. His burst and first step are much improved. Hes not a burner but hes made himself into a pretty good and quick skater.
