was interesting what the Rangers did, can't score and they get Rid of Gaborik for couple of grinders and Brassard, not sure they improved themselves

Absolutely!! MB looked tired for sure, not like he wasn't working on some deals, late night, and early morning for him and his team...

MB seems very level headed about our season and playoffs...once you get in, anything can happen!! Well said...

Torts wants to grind out goals. Obviously a natural goal scorer doesn't fit that mold.

Gabo was playing on the 4th line, no wonder.

The Rangers just seem to put out fires, all the time...and do tend to make trades for the sake of making trades...sometimes the flyers do that also...

Irrelevant. All Tortorella wants is to win the 'most blocked shots' trophy

Rumor; Philip Forsberg traded from Washington to Phoenix for Keith Yandle.

I like what MB has done, keeping the picks / propsects. Making a deadline deal is not required for a SC run. It's no guarantee a team wins the Cup. Team is 23-7-5, playing and has played with great chemistry all year long. Why screw with that? And with that record, and second place right now in the east and first there for the taking unless someone was offering a prime Chelios or prime Messier in a trade, i'm glad Bergevin stood pat and didn't overpay.

Forsberg is a nice prospect but this is a solid deal for the Caps if true

But then again i'm a big Yandle fan so i'm probably a bit biased

they only thing i wished was to upgrade our 4th line, to push Armstrong or White out of the lineup like Torres type player or Nystrom but i'm ok with standing pat

Way I see it is MB beat everyone to the punch this year acquiring Ryder well before the deadline and getting rid of a potential ball and chain next year and the one after that in the process. The more I look back on that trade, the more I like it.

The Sabres got quite the haul for Pominville..

Quote:
The Wild has acquired Buffalo Sabre's forward Jason Pominville and Buffalo's fourth-round draft pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for goaltender Matt Hackett, forward Johan Larsson and the Wild's 2013 first-round draft pick and a second-round pick in 2014.

They got good...not great...return, the two prospects are #6 and 7 on their list. Hackett being a future #1 is a big reach. Larsson is similar to Bournival.

Could be Nashville for sure. GM Poile was supposed to have a presser at 3:30, still not out yet.
