Yes, Lou makes trades just to humor fans

Not that I hate this move, but I really dont understand how Lou didn't move a dman even if it was for scraps. I want some consistency in the lineup, not this revolving door on D with constantly changing pairings.

The "hosting" of the draft couldn't be less important.

1) Only some (a relatively low # of) Devils fans will attend
2) Virtually 100% of those fans will leave after the first round ... and the balance will be gone after round 2

I just don't think it was a very good idea to begin with. My guess is he just really wanted Salvador back cause that's where it all started. We had 7 contracted for this year already.

Just as I suspected, our GM is actually levelheaded unlike the majority of posters here.

That's harsh. He didn't suck last year when he had 50 points on a contending team. Maybe he is washed up, but he's had a good career.

Still a better option than what scraps we've been running out there most nights on wing, and basically paid a canadian loonie for him.

No, there are many of us who KNEW we didn't have the assets to get the top 6 winger we needed to contend. However, we wanted one of our 20 dmen moved for picks (even if crap picks). Constantly healthy scratching guys is awful for chemistry.

Why is it that whenever somebody questions management some people act like we should accept everything without question?

But in the case you're questioning, it's specifically talking about this trade deadline.

You can flip your question just as easily, how come whenever management does anything some people always act like it's the wrong thing?

Because no one here has any real knowledge about what occurred this trade deadline?

If you want to criticize Lou for failing to address this issue over the summer, that's one thing. But it's pointless to bash him for doing his best in the current situation.

unless his goals weren't aligned with the fans who are complaining. if he had no intention of moving a defenseman then it's justifiable to be pissed at him.

Because somehow all of our d-men were untradeable despite a stiff like Murray fetching two two's, or J-Blow's bad contract getting back a ton of assets.

My biggest criticism is over the Summer with the 8 defenseman thing. Not what happened or didn't happen today.

I guess so.

Lou believes this team can make some noise in the playoffs. I happen to think so too. A lot of people on this board don't.

Yea, and then when you lose said FA for nothing because you are a stubborn old man that hasn't kept up with the times and is set in his ways...

Not talking contracts with pending FA's has to be the dumbest GM policy in the NHL. Gionta, Neids, Parise, Gomez, Rafalski, etc.

NO, I am not saying they would have stayed any way but how he handles these things certainly does not increase our chances.

Wouldn't DeBoer and Lou, guys who are around the team every day, have a better idea if scratching defenseman is "awful for chemistry" than any of us? Just a thought.

There you go using logic again.

Only Devils fans would ***** about getting a guy who can play in the top 9 for a 7th round pick. A 7th round pick! They might as well have given Phoenix a bag of pucks.
