Winnipeg claims Mike Santorelli

Was waived earlier this year and cleared, maybe they figure he will be like James Wright and blossom in Manitoba.

Simply ineffective most of the time 5-on-5. Doesn't kill penalties, doesn't work well on the powerplay. Great in shootouts. Enjoy.

Jets have the 4th liner market cornered.

This must be the plan, they're playing one as a 2nd line RW

santo aint suited for a 4th line role, he needs to play top 6 with skilled players, otherwise he will seem very inefficient for the jets.
I wish him well and hope he will play like his first season for the panthers while with you guys

Anyway, why not I guess. He's a UFA in the summer. He had a few good seasons in Florida but recently he hasn't been able to do anything at all. Maybe the Jets can get something positive out of him. He needs to be in a top-six role or he's not going to do anything and he needs to have good linemates because he isn't a guy who is going to make others better; it's the other way around. He isn't suited for the bottom-six either.

He's good in shootouts though, I'll give him that. Witnessed it myself last week unfortunately.

Santorelli had a great year a few seasons ago. I never understood how useful inexpensive guys cannot find homes in non-playoff markets/smaller markets.
