Talent Analysis

A physical defender, Racine skates well, has a quick point shot and a safe first pass, but his real ability is with the defensive side of the game. He plays a steady game beyond his years and is great at reading the play as it presents itself, positioning himself effectively and separating the puck carrier from the puck.

Future

Although Racine was impressive at the Panthers development camp in the early summer, he will play another year in the QMJHL to sharpen his skills. The odds are that he will join the professional ranks next year, play a season or to in the minors and then make a run at a mid-pair spot in the NHL.

Nice! Very steady dman, might look back at this guy as one of the more under appreciated d prospects we have.

I'm glad we signed him and he's gonna be a nice guy to develop. I really hope he develops into a guy like Garrison, Seidenberg, etc that we've had before...defensive d-men who can play a steady game as a top 4 defender.

Replacement for Mike Weaver in the future?

Racine seems like a Weaver. Guy who blocks shots and plays with an edge. Reliable every night.

Very solid player, definitely the heir to Weaver in my opinion. A bit undersized, but very physical, smart, steady player.

Kinda, but a lot nastier, stronger, and a better skater.

@JRacs3 congrats bud !! See you soon

@JonnyHuby11 thx bud

Huberdeau was a marked man among Panthers prospects (Trocheck, Racine).

Thankfully, I think these two patched things up! Props to Huberdeau for reaching out and congratulating him first.

LOL you wouldn't have thought that watching their careers in the Q. I guess they're very competitive with eachother.
