I'd extend Torres one year at 1.8 to 2.0. He fills a need.

Those guys were in the league for ages, it's respect that they make at least those amounts. Irwin is an AHL call up that has had a pretty solid body of work for the limited time he's been here. DW has always made (most) players earn their contracts, not vice versa as lots of GMs do.

Being he's ufa not rfa he could have go to market and possibly gotten more. Good deal by DW

True didn't think about status. And I'm sure he can't get Larry Robinson coaching elsewhere either. Probably more valuable in the long run

Fair deal. He may be a UFA next year but his current game has too many deficiencies to get a pay day. He'll have a good opportunity to improve on the Sharks with Robinson and the vets in the lineup. The main focus of the contract isn't the dollars but the fact that he won't be going back to the AHL.

Maybe a little more than I would have paid, but ok. He's proven himself to be a NHL player, hope he continues his great play.

Can't believe some of you are saying it's more than you would have paid... he was set to be a UFA... he would have gotten 1.5 (prob more) and 3 years or more easy depending on the team. He has a body of work now that says he can function on a good team and score. This is a great signing especially at that price... Jeez Mitchell used to make more and this guy will be way more important than he was...

A little more than I thought, but likely still a good deal for both sides...

Looks like a great deal for both sides.

I wouldn't have been surprised if Irwin got something around 1.5 from some team overpaying in UFA just based on his solid year so far. Hell we paid Burrish 2.5.

Irwin has been solid all year, and I'm happy to see he will be here longer.

Would like to see Gomez back for some more, he really has sparked that 4th line to be productive and I think he is falling into his role quite nicely. He's also been a known playoff performer throughout his career. He could move up to 3C until Hertl is ready to come in, plus I dont think Pavs wants to be a 3C for the remainder of his contract.
