Looking at the teams Minny and Columbus are playing, I wouldn't count on backing in.

Maybe 60 minutes of four corners? Just get it to OT and you're in.

Friday -- Edmonton at Minnesota
Saturday -- Columbus Home to Nashville
Saturday -- Detroit at Dallas
Saturday -- Minnesota at Colorado

Injuries
Detroit -- Miller (hand/out), Samuelsson (heart/day-to-day), Helm (back/out), Bertuzzi (old/day-to-day)
Columbus -- Anisinov (day-to-day/concussion), Nikitin (lower body/day-to-day), Calvert (finger/day-to-day)
Minnesota -- Pominville (upper body/day-to-day), Rupp (undisclosed/unknown), Heatley (Shoulder/Out)

Dallas (since we play them) -- Rome (undisclosed/unknown)...

We're getting healthy (and we don't even want two of the guys getting healthy, IMO). Columbus is missing two key players. Minnesota is out two big guns, and from what I remember, Suter has been playing hurt.

All we need is a point. Not that hard, but you know Dallas is going to roll over in their final game at home.
Columbus is home to Nashville, which should be two points. But Cbus is missing key players, and they've got some pressure on them.

My guess is Detroit loses a shutout, Columbus wins, and Minnesota beats Edmonton and loses in a shootout to Colorado.

So--
7th Minnesota 56 (22 ROW)
8th Detroit 55 (21 ROW)
9th Columbus 55 (19 ROW)

Let's just win our game and have the Wild lose one in regulation.

Please?

Wings fate is in their own hands. If they win, or hell, even lose in OT/SO (but **** that, win), there's nothing Columbus can do. So it should be obvious to the Wings what they need to go out there and do Saturday.

That gif. is awesome

I'm hoping that we continue playing like we have, if we do we should be fine. Nashville probably won't help unless they start Pekka Rinne and either he steals the game or Nashville plays great.

This sucks though, I was hoping we could clinch last night so we could potentially ease off saturdays game, put Gustavssson in to get Howard a rest and put Bertuzzi in to see where he is at health-wise. Won't happen now for sure, I just hope we can pull it off.

I bet Dallas comes out swinging against us. It's a conspiracy!

Really, though, they should be in tanking mode now. If they lose against us, they could jump up 2 spots in the draft. If they win, they could move down a spot.

pretty sure we'll need a point against dallas, which is pretty annoying. on the plus side, win and we have a real chance of getting 7th.

Minnesota will win their next two games and Columbus will defeat Nashville.

All Detroit have to do is win (regulation or otherwise).

the jackets will beat nashville

the wild will beat one of edmonton or minny for sure, however I can see them losing one as well

detroit for sure has the toughest opponent and will be in tough no doubt

i am really hoping the oilers beat the wild tonight

Bottom line, they win and they're in...I'm not worrying about the Wild and Jackets. I will raise an eyebrow if the Wild lose on Friday though but I'm not expecting them to lose twice. I'm bracing myself for a date with the Blackhawks next week.

With Saturday, they're all playing in the 7:00/7:30 window so don't really need to scoreboard watch...just take care of business and this team has been brilliant this week.

I want the Blackhawks. I want to see Queenville lose to the Wings in warm weather hockey for a 6th time.

On top of everything, Dallas won't be playing under pressure now that they are out of contention.

You mean like how they played in the third period against Columbus knowing there was no pressure?

I didn't watch the game and technically Dallas weren't eliminated after the second period. Columbus came out on top, but Dallas was still playing under pressure fighting for a playoff spot.

All I was trying to say was Detroit has to be wary of a team that has nothing to lose at the point and will be playing with more freedom. It's not a ridiculous statement/argument, is it?

i agree, dallas is without a doubt the best of the teams to be played by our biggest competition over the next 48hrs

nashville is trash and has gone in completely in the tank for lottery pick mode(heck they're worse then calgary)

edmonton has once again found itself in the bottom 5, removed RNH from their lineup for off-season surgery

colorado is simply atrocious

we have to come out even harder then we have all week

huh? the second the Wings game ended Dallas was officially eliminated, the Wings didn't even need to win even one point would have been enough

not sure why you're trying to argue against statistical fact....

Awful predictor for that team. Few years ago they were in a win and in game vs a non playoff Minnesota. They lost.

Just hope Kari doesn't play.

Yeah, so they had something to lose. They crumbled under pressure, but they still had a chance at making the playoffs.

You guys are really nitpicking at my previous comment. Detroit needs to be wary of a team that has nothing to lose, simple as that. They need to play with the same intensity as they have done in every game this week and not sit back expecting a win because the other team has nothing to play for. It's pointing out the obvious, but it's happened before.

I forgot Dallas' game started later. Did they know they were eliminated though? It's possible they were playing thinking they still had a shot.
