Ottawa offer for Bobby Ryan

Try to be reasonable in this thread...don't let it devolve into some silly pissing match.

I think it's a pretty common feeling on the Ottawa side (especially with the addition of Conacher) that we have a lot of prospects coming up (and playing in the A right now) that might not really have much of a chance in the NHL with all the players we already have on contract and the ones coming up. I think we're going to see Ottawa make some moves this summer, and this is one I think could be really beneficial to the team.

I propose:

To Anaheim:

Ottawa's 1st 2013, Stefan Noesen and ???

To Ottawa:

Bobby Ryan

-----

I guess the question is what is Anaheim's biggest organizational need right now and what would the + at the end of Ottawa's 1st + Noesen have to be at this point to make the deal even?

Keep in mind that Noesen is a former first rounder that has performed admirably, is from Texas and most expect to be quite a good player in the NHL. The 1st will be, likely, between 10th and 20th overall.

Bob Murray made it clear hes not trading Ryan, and if he did it would not be for futures.

I really don't see why Anaheim has any incentive to trade Ryan, yet alone trade Ryan for futures. You really don't offer any reason for them to make this deal, you mainly seem to be thinking about what the Senators need. Ryan isn't exactly old at 26, Anaheim already has a great prospect pool...why would they trade Ryan for futures?

The Ducks would be asking for the type of young roster players Ottawa shouldn't be willing to give up. We'd be talking about names like Zibanejad, Silfverberg, Cowen, Turris etc, or the Ducks would gladly hang onto Ryan.

If Ryan is traded at all it will be to fill other NHL needs. No picks/prospects need apply.

Lol, Anaheim isn't getting a signed Karlsson for a UFA in 2014 (Ryan), a non-productive Fowler and a late 1st/2nd

true because the ducks would never make that trade anyways. as awful as fowler looks on the stats sheet, hes one of our few untouchables.

Yeah...I'm generally not one to disagree with other team's fans when they say their player is 'untouchable'...but, come on. It's Erik ****ing Karlsson. The ONLY player that should be untouchable for him, on Anaheim's roster, is Ryan Getzlaf. But Fowler? Come on.

Not like it matters, Sens wouldn't even contemplate trading him.

I'm thinking Zibenejad would have to be the guy going the other way for Anaheim to be interested. Would give the Ducks a very physical 1-2 punch down the middle.

Being reasonable, Anaheim is currently a top team so trading an elite winger would for futures be nothing short of insanity.

Cmon, I would trade Fowler in a second for Karlsson. Not that package but Fowler would not be the hold up.

Overpayment I think. Any 3 of those 4 would easily get it done for me last year and maybe in the offseason if the Ducks decide they want to move in a different direction.

Any trade for Bobby has to have ATLEAST 1 top 6 guy included as a starting point.

If ryan is moved it will be for 2 top six wingers who are young. Think like Ryan+ for Courts and Simmonds from Philly. Along those lines.

Depending on the plus (DSP?) I woud do that deal with Phily in a heartbeat. And mainly because of Simmonds.

Haha jesus. I wouldn't do any of those two pieces together besides Michalek + 1st. To me, Ryan is still no more than a 60 pt guy. Great to have but I wouldn't break the bank for him. Which, I presume, ends discussion.

Glad HF still has some logical posters. We don't need future picks/prospects/whatever when Anaheim has a top 10 prospect pool in the league for one. And for two I agree with you we are sitting pretty nicely on top of our division. You put those two together? Why the f would we do this trade?

The only way I see Ryan moving is if he demands too much money.

The Ducks have 21m to spend sign/re-sign 12 players.
If he wants 7m that leaves them with 14 for 11, or 1.13 per player.

Could he be moved? Yes. Will he be moved? Maybe. Will he be cheap to acquire? No.

Edit: Looked at wrong year. When he becomes a UFA the Ducks will have more room from current contracts. If he asks 7m they will still have 36m. Plenty to fill remaining roster.

I think they are even less likely to move him now.
