What do you think he could garner come draft day?

I'd be happy with a 15-20 pick since teams in that range would probably be willing to upgrade right away.

Not very much without retaining some of his salary. Likely any team who wants him is going to want to compete and my not have the space to fit him under the cap.

Call me a nut but I'd love for Montreal to pick him up. He has beast potential in the playoffs.

I'd want to have our 2nd back as well as a decent A or B level prospect.

I would do Jim O'Brien and one of Mark Stone/Matt Puempel.

His value is hindered by the fact he is being paid 7m even though his cap is 6m. This is a deterrent for budget teams.

He also only has 1 year left on his contract. No guarantee he sticks around.

Neither Stone or Peumpel can skate well. Will be lucky to ever seen full time NHL unless they severely improve it

No way, dude was a locker room cancer here in MTL. I'm surprised the Flames didn't trade him at the deadline to a team with cap space and making a playoff run considering how well he performs in the post-season.

The guy might rub a few people the wrong way, but I firmly believe it was only a secondary problem last season. Just look at how well Cammalleri (and everyone on the team) did in the 2010 playoffs. The organization has changed a lot (Gauthier and Martin I mean), and I'd take him back for a year easy.

That's just my opinion though.

I could see ownership eating 1 - 1.5. Bringing his cap hit to 5 - 4.5.

I could see a late 1st and 4th for him...

For him, I feel like the feeling was mutual towards the old Canadiens management/team style.

Cammalleri, despite all things about his size or anything, is an extremely competitive, determined player and I would say that his desire to score / enjoyment of goal-scoring is "elite", as weird as that sounds.

He just truly detests teams with no compete. To him, it's not whether a team sucks or is a President's Trophy winner, but whether they come out and play with some fire in their eyes, and he felt that the Canadiens of yesteryear were not doing that due to coaching/management/locker room or what have you.

On topic, I think he'd fetch a 1st between 16-30 range, but only if salary is kept by the Flames. If no salary is kept, I expect a 2nd in 2013 and a 3rd in 2014.

The Blues could have interest, but Calgary would have to pick up some significant salary.

I like the idea of Mark Stone sticking around the Sens organization.

Probably not more then a 2nd rounder unless Calgary retains salary or takes a player under contract back in return.

Calgary should just retain some of his salary - it's not like they need the CAP Space, and if he's not making 6+mil, he's a lot more attractive in terms of trade bait.

Cammy at 4mil is something almost every team would at least look at.

Flames owners would never do it. They refused to pay Kotalik to play on the farm. Can't imagine they'd like the idea of writing a check for a guy playing for another NHL team.

If Calgary eats some salary, he'd look great back in LA. Bernier of any interest to Calgary? He would be ready to step in as a starter right away if Ramo isn't.

Yep, agree with those saying Calgary should look at keeping some salary.
We are going to blow next year, so eating some of his salary to get another first (at the draft) makes sense. I'd be pumped to have 4 1sts

Absolutely. I know we have lots of goaltending prospects, but it would be great to have an established goalie..

I could agree with the first part of your post, not sure if you remember what Cammalleri flat out said before getting traded:
Quote:
"I can't accept that we will display a losing attitude as we're doing this year. We prepare for our games like losers. We play like losers. So it's no wonder why we lose
IMO that's something that really ruined it for him, for the fans (who booed him during his last few games), the media and his teammates in the locker room...he shouldn't have said that. Had he still been on our team today, I am sure he would have been deadly because the habs are much more offensive today than we were back in Jack Martin's days (his system handicapped Cammalleri). I wouldn't mind having a player who's an exact replica of Cammalleri tbh, but I wouldn't want Cammalleri himself on our team, I have no respect for him because of his last month on the habs. It wasn't just the comment, but you could see he just wasn't interested in the defensive-style games we were playing, he was floating around and he wasn't even trying to compete and it was so frustrating as a fan to see our $6 million dollar guy act so lazy.
