Pretty classy of both teams to meet at centre ice to salute the fans.

This actually effects the Jets because now it's more likely they'll actually try to win in that game the Jets face them in.
It's the Jets' last game but not the Canadiens' last game, so it's now extremely unlikely that it will be a meaningless one for them. On the other hand, they may not be as tough an opponent given their recent play.

We sure can't buy a break, though, when it comes to the other teams (though they haven't had one from us either).

Makes very little difference mathematically at this point. .3%, according to Sportsclubstats, anyways.

If Jets go 4-1, and the Sabres go 4-0, we beat them based on points. If we go 3-2 and the Sabres go 4-0, we tie in points but beat them on ROW. That situation (52 points) would give the Jets a 48% percent chance of getting in.

If we go 2-3, then we're done anyways...52 points appears to be the cutoff. Jets need to win 3 out of 5 at least regardless of what happened tonight with the Sabres.

Need the Leafs to help us out tonight - what are the odds they lose? Even I'd say.

Isles look great tonight......total domination of the Leafs. Man we are chasing some searing hot teams...everyone is playing great hockey it's kind of bizzare.

In a way it's great the Jets are chasing other teams that are playing well. It's a mentality they need to adopt and keep. Don't count on other teams losing. Just win and keep on winning...take care of your own business, it's a race all the way through.

Uhm maybe. It might lead the Jets to play better, but it doesn't make it more likely we reach the playoffs...

I guess we're all Sabres fans tomorrow? Would be cool to slip into 8th.

More than cool, it gives the Jets the ability to once again be in control of their own destiny; just needing to match the Rangers point total over the final 4 games to ensure a playoff spot.

They are technically in control of their destiny right now, at least from what I can tell. Winning out = 3rd place, just so long as all those wins are in regulation or OT.

Don't see us going 9-0 to finish the season. If they lose one game it better be Buffalo, or even Montreal. Must beat the Isles and Caps

What? The Caps actually can lose a hockey game? Finally!

Love the fact that each game is must win and the boys are playing well. Not a fan of the third period jitters of late, but the find a way. Good experience.

The Jet's schedule to finish out the season is pretty nasty.

Two teams that will be desperate to win.
The most important one (Caps) is the 2nd in a b2b.
The Isles always seem to have the Jets number.

A month ago when I looked at the schedule the Caps and Isles I tout they would both be nothing games for them.

It seems to me the Caps have a pretty tough finish...if we catch someone, I'm guessing it's them.

We don't have to go 9-0. We only have to go 4-0. Past doesn't matter. What's that coin-flip analogy? If you flip a coin 10 times and it (unlikely as it is) ends up heads 10 times, the chance that it will be heads or tails on the next flip is unaffected.

TSN picked up the Ranger-Sabre game due to the Boston game being postponed.
