Foppa?

I was texting my hf pal CantBeatzPekka and I noticed I called Forsberg, Foppa... Do you all see that becoming his nickname for us?

No. Someone alluded to him wearing #21 and that would put at on of pressure on him.

Lets let him make it to the bigs and then call him fop or something.

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!

source: http://www.lyricsondemand.com/tvthem...perlyrics.html

Now if he's faster than lightning and smart, we could go with Flipper--might want to change the whole undersea thing but you know what I mean. However, if he's just prone to making strange noises, leading his teammates to danger, and generally being surly then I'll probably call him Zipper. Brian Regan fans will know why.

Haha nice research. I want Flipper to stick because if he pans out and does well, I can wear a sweet hat like this to games:

I say we give Forsberg #16, and if Clune is still here we give Rich the #21 sweater and the nickname Foppa.

When Peter Forsberg was a Predator, it was revealed somewhere (I don't remember if he said it or if it was written about at the time) that "Foppa" is pretty much like "Smitty" or "Jonesey"--it's just a nickname based on a surname.

This is true. In Sweden every Forsberg is called Foppa even though obv Peter the Great is THE Foppa. So it's not weird for him to be called Foppa in Sweden, but I guess calling him Foppa in NA might bring some weight on his shoulders.
