Didn't expect Lupul to practice today. On the other hand we should have C-Mac back so that's alright.

He is still listed as upper body injury so hopefully it is a whiplash.

Good to see Komarov and Mac back.

Of note, John-Michael Liles felt fine night of his concussion, but woke up next morning feeling like "my world was turned upside down".

Looked like a concussion to me. The way he went to the bench and how lost he looked.

hope we dont rush him back..from what i see from lupul he looks like the guy that will do anything to get back on the ice to help his team and a head injury doesnt seem to be the easiest type of injury for the leaf medical staff to diagnose

Thankfully Mac has the ability to pot some goals. We'll need him if Lupes is out

Hopefully Loops is ok.

As of this morning allegedly he had some discomfort and a head ache, but no tell tale signs of concussion.

Will be under going further evaluation.

Head shots are a tricky thing and extremely difficult to evaluate at first. Time will only tell with Lupul's injury and he should absolutely not be rushed into anything. Concussion like symptoms could hit him in the next 30 minutes, or the next 48 hours.

RC shouldn't even be thinking about putting him into the Line up on Saturday, even if he does feel okay at the time.

Pronger's career ending injury came at the hands of our very own Grabovski.

Something that seemed less impactful ended Chris Prongers career. He felt "fine" after this event, but only felt the full effects 4 games later.

Rushing a pre-mature diagnosis can really put the player at risk, and we should fully expect Lupul to sit Saturday before a proper diagnosis.

Teams avoid using the 'concussion' word as much as possible as it means following a complex and time consuming protocol during which the player, of course, is unavailable.

That Lupul is not practicing today doesn't mean nothing . Even if he is okay I think Carlyle will give him some off time ot rest. Maybe Lupul will not play on saturday vs Devils but he will be back on 100% against the Rangers on monday.

Yep. This is exactly what happened to Rene Bourque this past February, IMO. They thought he actually had a worsening flu for a couple of weeks until they eventually realized he had a concussion.

For the record, I'm pretty sure it was Orr knocking him on his a** in that 6-0 game that gave him that slow-burn concussion, but who knows.

I really, really hope Loops is OK. This is kind of like a bad dream in a way.

you don't need time off to rest from whiplash, maybe a practice while they do more tests which is the right protocol - but if he misses the game saturday he has been diagnosed with a concussion.

Him not practicing and suffering from headaches definatley means something. I think it's fair to speculate he has at least a mild concussion. But hopefully he's back before playoffs.

I hope it's not the same case as it was for Gardiner during the beginning of January (when he played for Marlies) where they said it was whiplash and such but he ended up being out for like a month.

It's definitely a concussion. Did you guys see him at the bench?

Lupul day to day

Lance Hornby ‏@sunhornby 19s

Unsure if he's going to jersey but unlikely. Being examined. Carlyle hesitant to say concussion.

Wife and I are flying to Florida for the Lightening and Panthers games on the 24th and 25th. Her reaction on seeing Lupul get hurt:

"Oh no! I wanted to see him!"
