TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS VS PHILADELPHIA FLYERS

CAPTAINS LOG EDITION

After a long day of protecting the Universe, we join Ilya Bryzgalov in the main engine room of the Starship Enterprise. He is entering his closing remarks for the day. Have a listen.

(note: I tried numerous times unsuccessfully to make myself have a good Bryz accent and this is sadly and embarassingly the best I could come up with)

Toronto Maple Leafs Starting Lineup:

JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Kulemin
McClement - Grabovski - Frattin
Hamilton - Colborne - Orr

Phaneuf - Gunnarson
Liles - Kostka
Fraser - Franson

JAMES REIMER

Philidelphia Flyers starting lineup

Read - Giroux - Voracek
Hartnell - Schenn - Simmonds
Gagne - Fedotenko - Knuble
Hall - Couturier - Rosehill

Timonen - Gervais
Laudrisen - Schenn
Huskins - Gustafsson

GO LEAFS GO!

Very excited to see Joe C. This guy has was pretty decent in his last stint, and he has only gotten better since then. It's time to sweep the season series against the Flyers.

GO LEAFS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

February 2008 arrest
On February 11, 2008, O'Byrne and teammate Tom Kostopoulos were arrested with force outside a Tampa Bay, Florida nightclub following the team's rookie dinner for a purse-snatching incident.[17] He was charged that night with grand theft after police found him with a woman's purse in one hand making a call with her cellphone in the other. Kostopoulos was charged with resisting the officers after he was told to back off while they were dealing with O'Byrne. Both were eventually released on bail—O'Byrne's was $2,000, Kostopoulos' was $500.[18] The charges against Kostopoulos were dropped a few weeks later, while those against O'Byrne were dropped in July 2008, after he apologized to the victim and conceded to do community service in Canada.[19]

I actually got on TSN today, asked whether or not Carlyle was ruining Gardiner. Interestingly, former Leaf Jeff ONeill said if they don't start playing him, then perhaps his agent should ask for a change of scenery, having him sit in the press box is a waste of time. ONeill said it is very true that a coach can determine whether a guy makes it or not. Carlyle completely mishandled Lupul, I think this guy is playing with Gardiner's development in a negative way. Nonis needs to step in here, Holzer played the worst hockey of the season for several games straight yet the argument was to give a long look. Jake makes a couple errors and he's given the Liles treatment (which we've seen was a terrible decision). I honestly don't think Randy knows how to develop Jake, he needs to play! Go with seven D, play him sheltered minutes, but leaving him in the press box, leaving him out of a playoff run, shows no foresight.

Colborne only if McLaren can't go, has flu. ROB on a flight that arrives late in afternoon, RC says he's an option, but no one seems certain at this point. Smart money probably on not playing, that's awful late to get to town on a new team and play the same night when the current line-up has been winning, IMO.
