I like Mike Kostka and not a doubt in my mind that he is an NHLer, but he's a 6th or 7th guy, he isn't a top 4 defenseman, he doesnt have the foot speed to be an average puck moving defenseman, and doesn't have the strength or speed to be sufficient in his own zone. I want Gardiner from in on out. While Gardiner has his faults in the defensive zone, we all saw the boston game where he prevented the goal in over time because he has an active stick, hockey sense, and speed. Kostka needs to keep working on the foot speed and try again next camp, but it isn't cutting it this season.

Yea referees were bad but that doesn't excuse our boys not finishing all those chances. Kessel had some chance but he should've had some goals there too. He's gotta get out of his goal scoring funk, even though he's racking up points. Could've used those goals more than setups.

I know he is the whipping boy around here, and he did make a bad play, but Gunnar and Phaneuf made some bad plays too that resulted in goals, heck Liles backhands a puck at the blue line that was picked off. The entire D had their faults tonight.

That was a tough one to swallow.

A loss in regulation, and a loss of our star player. Feels bad man.

At least Jersey lost, but that is a small upside to a **** night.

Phil had a pretty good game offensively - generated a lot of chances.

good to see JVR get on the scoreboard.

Grabo was invisible. Has been now for a while.

Dion didn't look particularily good. Tired of him dodging everyone that calls him out.

The refs stole that game for the Flyers. No penalty on the hit on Lupul. No goaltender interference call on the 4th goal. No call when Kadri was tripped in the 3rd. It almost looked rigged.

Flyers definitely got the better end of the calls - but they're a horrible road team and this is crunch time. That cannot be an excuse.

I think the Leafs lost because all the plugs in that lineup add nothing. Freakin Orr and McLaren? Sure they don't play much but that's just stupid. They should have claimed Adam Hall.

Colborne might have been the difference maker tonight, at this point there is nothing to lose because Grabo for me it is a broken record isn't making a difference for our team. He's just taking up space now from someone that could.

But on the other hand, we had to lose one eventually and I had a feeling it would be tonight. We will come out hard on Saturday and bounce back.
