rivalry shmivalry.

This team needs Jones.

I've seen posts on here where people say we should pay relatively heavily to make sure we're number 1 pick, if the lottery doesn't favor us.

Let's help ourselves get that lottery win -- by finishing 30th.

I want to know what about Seth Jones is different from when EJ was in the same position his draft year. Pronger 2.0, can't miss, future #1 stud guaranteed, ect. Didn't all the scouts say the same thing about EJ?

Seth Jones' career is linked to EJ for what reason?

So, what do we do? Choose someone else, then pay through the nose for a #2 defender, if/when we can find one for sale? Don't forget, not only will we have to pay for him with assets, but we'll have to pay big bucks to him, if he's already established.

I would say trade Stastny for defensive help, but I no longer believe he alone will get it done. If the rumors of what Phoenix wanted for Yandle are true....yikes.

I only hope we explore all options for the pick. Can't miss defensive prospects worry me.

And massive frame, elite skater, good in all 3 zones. Supposed to be ready to step right into the NHL. They are very similar IMO and they will likely be linked.

So the same aspects most top defensive prospects have in common? Hell most top prospects, regardless of position, have in common.

I'm fine drafting another EJ 1st overall. I can only imagine how Johnson would be playing with a real coach/system.

And I really don't see Jones not being better.

Nice to see you guys join the party. I was growing weary of carrying that flag.

If EJ doesn't turn it around next season, I wonder what the top end of this rebuild really is.

Huh? Most top prospects are 6'4" and elite skaters? I don't believe that is the case.

Regardless. This isn't the thread for this discussion.

I really hope we win today. **** the Wings.

There are a few guys in every year's draft that have size and skating ability. Not uncommon at all.

You'd be in the minority. I still believe in EJ but no way do I take him 1st overall.
