NHL Awards

Could any of our players take home any awards?

I guess the Hart Trophy is going to Crosby, even though he's out for the remainder of the season.

Getzlaf has a small chance for Art Ross. At least if he keeps up his current form. I do think Crosby will get passed by someone there...Kane is my bet. Would be so awesome if Getzlaf took it home though.

Koivu has to many PIM to contend for Lady Byng?

BB should without a doubt at least get nominated for Jack Adams.

All the Awards will go to Chicago and Pittsburg.

If Crosby doesn't play again I think Kane will win. Ducks will not get any love for the voters.

That's a small minded thing to say when a Duck won the Hart Trophy 2 years ago.

Yeah don't say they won't get votes because Perry won the Hart. Getzlaf might have the Art Ross though which would silence all of his critics.

If the Ducks win the President's Trophy Boudreau has a shot at the Adams, and he should get nominated regardless, but I don't think he can win unless Ottawa finishes out of the playoffs.

Getzlaf has a shot at the Art Ross.

Beauchemin will get a few Norris votes but that one is more a career award unless you simply out point everyone by an obscene margin.

Nobody on this team is ever going to win a Lady Byng

Getzlaf will, finally, win the Vezina.

I think if Getzlaf wins the Art Ross, he wins the Hart. It's hard to win MVP awards when you miss a significant amount of time, and the Penguins are stacked with or without Crosby, so there's an legit argument that Getzlaf's more valuable to the Ducks than Crosby is to the Pens.

I don't think Crosby wins the Hart if he remains out for the season. Unless he comes back or Getzlaf's production reverts to early season level of just under PPG I think it's close between Crosby and Getzlaf.

Getzlaf has quite a few things going for him in the voting, Ducks are a huge suprise team which he's clearly carrying this season. Tampa is doing way too bad for Stamkos to win it. Between Kane and Toews it's hard to choose Chicago's MVP. Between Montreal and Boston there's Chara.

Don't they usually vote on the awards before the playoffs? I know they do it with the Lindsay.

Yeah, all the awards are decided before the playoffs start.

Even the Conn Smythe. Who needs a tinfoil hat?

We aren't even going to be nominated for anything. Maybe the Jack Adams.

Bummed that they won't be held in Vegas this year.

Naw, moderators wear toques, so the Canadian media won't treat us like Columbus.

If Pittsburgh keeps losing I say Sid gets hart as it shows that team is all about him. Getzlaf will be right up there in the race though.

Vezina - Bobrovsky if they look like they are making playoffs.

Norris - Subban, Beauch should be top 3 or 5

Calder - Hubreduea/Conacher toss up

Lady Byng - Datsyuk/St.Louis (Nobody from ducks in running)

Jack Adams - Paul MacLean if makes playoffs. If not whoever finishes 1st in west JQ/BB I think BB edges him though because of where the Ducks were last year.

Masterton - Selanne/Jagr considering they both have the most dedication to hockey

Lindsay - Crosby

Messier - Getzlaf

GM of year (is this voted before playoffs)- If before it goes to Shero to stacking team. I think BM would be in running with how his FA pickups have done this year.

Art ross- Crosby

Jennings - Ottawa Anderson/Lehner

Richard - Stamkos

My picks

I really think the rest of us deserve a group photo of all the mods here. After all, in this country it is our right to face our accusers.

Boudreau will and should get nominated for the Jack Adams.

I doubt Getzlaf wins the art ross - Stamkos is my frontrunner. The hart has to (an will) go to Crosby - what a year even if he misses the rest of the regular season.

As much as Getzlaf deserves to be in the hart conversation I think the media thinks Kane and Toews have been better from the West and obviously Crosby and Stamkos will get more votes than him from the East. I still cannot agree with anyone who thinks Toews or Kane has been better than Getzlaf this season but of course Chicago games are a lot easier to stay up for than Ducks games.

Beauch has been great this year but I don't think he's worthy of the Norris. Ryan Suter has been amazing for Minnesota and there are a few other guys who are ahead of Beauch IMO. He's certainly played like a legit #1 guy this year though.

Mark Messier to honor an individual who leads by positive example through on-ice performance, motivation of team members and a dedication to community activities and charitable causes.

In other words, its an award for the best captain of a team. Shane Doan won it last year.

I think Getzlaf would be good candidate, leads team in most categories, really stepped up leadership after a really bad year, ducks are part of so many charity things over the year too.

There's still a few weeks left, if somebody gets hot, anything can happen. Especially because of the short season.
