Ottawa loses their next game in regulation they drop to 7th, Isles move to 6th based on ROW tiebreak

Sets up Pitts - NYR ; Boston - Ottawa ; Wash - NYI ; Mon - Tor

... Interesting matchups

Either way tough news for Calgary.

He said he wants to play with his little brother.

In Calgary they are saying that is nice, but might also be a indicator he isn't driven to be the best or face the best.

Based on his past 2 years, there really is no reason to stay and the "education" point is being discounted since he could still pursue his education with a huge pot of cash as signing bonus and 3 year ELS contract.

Fan960 points out he'll likely have to play a year in AHL whether he does it at age 20 or age 21.

They are just adding up all the little points and saying his agent might suggest being UFA gives him options.

The New York Rangers are the most valuable NHL franchise at $1.2 billion, taking the top spot on the Forbes list for the first time since 2004.

The magazine said Tuesday that Montreal is second at $1.18 billion, followed by Toronto at $1.15 billion.

Time to root for Buffalo tonight!

Normally I don't care who we play and the only reason why I want Buffalo to win is so have a chance to play Montreal in the opening round.

A TO vs Montreal series would be AMAZING for TO. It's been over 7yrs (8yrs?) since we have been in the playoffs and win or lose against Montreal it will be super fun to be apart of!

I am not afraid of Boston, I just really want to see a TO Montreal playoff series.

If we win the two matchups that the Habs and Leafs have left, we just need to go 4-2 and have montreal go 3-3 for us to get home ice.

As a leafs fan living in Montreal, nothing would be more awesome than to meet them, then beat them in the 1st round.

No thanks Jeff, we wouldn't be teaching Boston anything. How many times have we been in the playoffs the past 10 years again?

Come on Buffalo.

I think MTL get's an easy win here, but would love to see Mtl begin to slide a bit.

Montreal losing tonight would be huge for us if we need to catch them.

They have 9 games left we have 8, we're 3 games behind them.

To catch them we need any combination of....

Tor record vs Mtl record
8-0 vs 5-4
7-1 vs 4-5
6-2 vs 3-6
5-3 vs 2-7
4-4 vs 1-9
3-5 vs 0-10

If we can win both our games against them that be huge, but then again if they win both against us that be devastating. If we win both though then for the other games we'd only need

Tor record vs Mtl record
6-0 vs 5-2
5-1 vs 4-3
4-2 vs 3-4
3-3 vs 2-5
2-4 vs 1-6
1-5 vs 0-7

Which is with in the realm of possibility.

I think the Bruins may lose this one unfortunately. No Marchand, so the lines have been changed a bit. Isles hungry for points, too. Might be an ugly one for the bears

Personally for me:

Carolina over Washington
Boston over Islanders
Buffalo over Montreal
Don't care about the Tampa game.

Winnipeg over Florida.

Truthfully, I'd like Winnipeg to make the playoffs. I don't get/understand all the hate (maybe if I did, i'd be on boo on them).

We want:

Boston, Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg to lose in regulation. Washington can win I guess.

^I hate Bruins and their fans. I'd want them to be ahead of Habs, but if Habs lose; I certainly won't mind them losing.

That was a great shift by Isles against Bruins. Total domination.
