couple of ideas, don't take these as final proposal, as I am willing to play with these ideas

Bobby Ryan
(someone will probably have to add)

to Islanders
Tyler Ennis
to Buffalo
Nino Niederreiter
and pick

to Chicago
Tyler Ennis
to

Every single one of those is Brutal for the other team especially the first one

And here I was thinking the exact opposite...(although if Buffalo adds a decent piece to Anaheim the then the 1st trade could work)

Not brutal, but favours the other team slightly.

Stars have a lot of good young wingers... I could see a trade between these two possibly.

That's a bit of an understatement.

Vanek & Ennis for Ryan and Anaheim's 1st? Buffalo keeps $3M of Vanek's salary and they can attempt to re-sign him, Ennis is at a good hit.

No, I think we'll keep the guy that's cost contained for another year after next. Or trade him for someone that fits the bill. We're also looking to fill the 2C role internally.

Lol. If Ennis played with linemates the caliber of Toews and Hossa, he would have double his points.

Yes he would undoubtably produce at Crosby's level. It's so obvious he's a generational talent just looking for new line mates.

I do feel Ennis given he is an RFA after next season is a candidate to be moved. I am also not 100% sold on Ennis as a center.

If you have Hodgson, Grigs, and Girgs as the top 3 centers for 14/15 season, then Ennis could be moved for a winger.

Ennis could also be used as a pawn if Buffalo wants to move up their MN pick from around 20 to around 10-12.

I would not even consider trading Grigorenko for Ryan unless Buffalo finishes in the top 5 and gets one of the centers in the draft AND Buffalo is certain of an extension for ryan when the trade happens.

Even if this ridiculous statement was true it still doesn't explain why Chicago would trade Saad for Ennis... Saad has been great with Toews and Ennis isn't enough incentive for them to consider moving him.

Hawks probably pass. I like Ennis but he doesn't address any of the Hawks needs. The Hawks have extremely specific needs.

1). A 2C with size that can win a faceoff and is a strong enough skater/puck possessor to play with Kane.

2). A point dman on the PP and replace Rozsival next season when he is a UFA.

Ennis really isn't #1... and he's not a dman, so not #2 either.

I haven't seen enough of him but a few friends of mine are Hawks fans and they say Saad has been pretty impressive FWIW

NYI say no thanks.

They have strong center depth and need size/skill/toughness on the wing

Strome just joined Bridgeport and although it's only been a few games, he's not missed a beat, looks very good. I expect Strome and Brock Nelson, will both be playing some games at center for the NYI next season.

Both trades appeal to me in their own special way. I know a lot of people will think I'm crazy, but I like the second trade more then the first. The first trade would be contingent on resigning Vanek and I would want Anaheim to add a second.

We're not in need of a rebuild, so there's no point in us taking that kind of package.

Thats not a rebuild package, thats a retool package for someone the ducks might not be able to sign long-term. Granted they won't trade him yet, but if and when they do, a package like this is what I see going back.

I love to get Ennis, but we have no trade history....or future.

Stafford is the only part of that which would qualify for retooling, the rest are futures. Which is why that's a rebuild package. We aren't moving a core player for quantity, regardless of the value.

Stafford doesn't address a greater need than Ryan does.

a retool would be Stafford + Ennis + Gerbe + 2nd 2014 (MN or LA) for Ryan
