As weird as it is, I would be more confident about Roy signing long term had Roy taken number 9 off Kassian. To me, taking an intern number signals he thinks of his time here as short-term.

Definitely over-analyzing but whatever.

Yeah, I felt the same way when I first heard he was taking a different number.
But who knows, maybe he changes his mind.

Or he just doesn't care about jersey numbers (like some players do).
He wore #11 in Dallas.

Initially, that may be the case but as he gets used to being in the team and gets used to the city, maybe he will change his mind

I still dont understand why Ebbett is in the lineup. does the coaching staff actually think he is better than Schroeder?

Wow, really?

Kassian offered and he said no.

Maybe he felt weird taking the number off a guy, and looking like a hot shot, and annoying fans who had a Kassian jersey and making the organization change things?

Maybe he felt like Kassian should keep it?

Maybe he doesn't like taking numbers from guys?

If he did take it then some people might rise an eyebrow or two somewhere even though it happens somewhat often.

Kassian's a "good kid" according to Roy...didn't want to take it off him. Prob would cost him $50,000...

This is my second favourite. My first favourite is the experiment where all have to wait for an extra 5 minutes every time...

Down payment? That's probably just the tax he pays on it...

He is. Confirmed yesterday on Twitter, along with the fact that he got engaged.

Now confirmed that Raymond and Weise are back in (Raymond takes Jensen's spot, Weise takes Pinizzotto's), while Ballard is not ready yet. Barker will remain in the lineup.

Canuck D Cam Barker says he's staying in which means no Keith Ballard (foot). Looks like Steve Pinizzotto will sit with Weise back. #canucks

All I want from this game is the same 60 minute effort from last game. If they can do that I'll have far more confidence in this team going forward and into the playoffs. If this is the point the Nucks get on a roll and stay healthy we could go far, SCF I think.

#Canucks Raymond playing with Ebbett and Kassian. Weise in with Lapierre and Sestito. Top two lines stay same.
