Give credit to Rinne too. He's a big reason the Preds were a few bounces away from scoring.

The Hawks were solid today and spent tons of time in the Pred's zone.

I think Rinne was solid, but mostly I think the Hawks just didn't finish their chances. And that's not a dig at the Hawks...sometimes the bounces just don't go your way. But clearly the Hawks controlled the vast majority of this game and deserved the 2 points.

Liked the team play and team D. Preds Offense just isn't good. I still say they should trade Blum or Josi for a real forward
I think they'll have a shot at Monahan. He'd be the perfect forward for that team IMO.

Razor shut the door. No 3rd period meltdown. Great job.

Handzus, Bickell, Stalberg. The Hawks are finally able to have a line with some serious size. Looked great.

You people kill me. We should be kicking Preds ass on the scoreboard, not just in the play. Rinne was good, but this team needs to bury it's chances and not let ops hang around when we outplay them. We certainly should not have to be hanging on in the end to beat this team.

Aren't you part of the, "The final score is all the matters", group?

The Hawks outplayed the Preds and won. But, lets complain because they couldn't score more than 1 goal.

Division game on the road. Also b2b, home and home. Divisional games dont really matter who the opposition puts on the ice. I'll take the win and the shutout for Emery.

we desperately need to fix the pp. kane-toews-hossa with leddy and _____ at point. 1 unit that can score is infinitely better than 2 that can't

No actually I'm not. Once a coach always a coach!

I'm not complaining but I'm certainly not satisfied with the way we are playing. Preds are dam awful.

As I said in my original post. The 2 points are great but Hawks have 11 games to sharpen their game.

The Hawks did that last year.. it didn't work out too well.

When everyone's healthy, I'd go with:

Bickell (net presence) - Toews - Kane
Sharp - Keith

Saad - Handsuz (net presence) - Hossa
Seabrook - Leddy

I don't see what the problem is. They badly outplayed the Predators, and on most nights would have had 3-4 goals to show for it.

Sharp/Kruger/Kane
Bickell/Bolland/Frolik
Shaw/Handzus/Carcillo

Probably looks like that in my mind... hopefully Bolland doesn't come back to the 2nd line. Kruger was capable there.
People wanting Kruger in the 2nd line spot!! Imagine if we told our past selves a year ago that! we'd think we'd be crazy. Kruger did play well, hopefully he can stay up there for a little bit honestly.

Hawks played well. Third line looked pretty decent again. PP had chances but was not really clicking. A win is a win and let's hop ewe do it again tomorrow night.

The Hawks looked outstanding. Razor was awesome, stood on his head a few times and looked good doing it.

I'm in the crowd of I don't give a damn what the score is at the end of it as long as the Hawks won. We didnt have another third period meltdown.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree we should keep Kruger on the 2nd line, he looked great. Handzus is everything I was hoping and probably more.

Two points and now we root for the Avs to beat Phx.

yea and this year its become brutally obvious that the main problem with the pp is the point men. keith and Seabrook together is brutal to watch. i didn't have center ice last year so i didn't get to see what successful pp's did, but holy crap are Keith and seabrook brutal compared to the top points.

I like Shaw as a PP net presence...he is adept at tipping shots, Bickell not so much.

Also Emery has to be in the discussion for playoff goalie, neither is a great goalie but Emery is so much calmer and he just doesn't give up the stupid, back breaking, momentum changing goal that the team has sadly come to expect from CC.

Shaw's also 5'10" and routinely gets pushed around in front of the net on the PP.. and the worst part is, because he's small, he never draws penalties for blatant cross-checks. Gotta "battle" through getting constantly dumped, I guess.

I actually thought the score was very much not the story of the game and didn't show how well the Hawks were playing. At all. I can't speak for the St. Louis game because I couldn't watch it, but I saw nothing about today's game that told me "Nashville's really dictating this thing".
Only saw the 1st two periods. Nashville didn't control anything except for when there was an icing and guys were stuck out there for about 3 minutes straight

Rinne has one of the best glove and blocker in the world. Especially at being 6'5", his vision is amazing. You score on him by making him move around, i.e. great passing and rebounds.

I kind of assumed we'd split this home and home but if the guys can pull off another win tomorrow I'd love to put Anaheim a little farther back in the rearview mirror.
